WWE News: Update On When Roman Reigns Will Return To WWE Television

Roman Reigns has been off of WWE television since February 22, where he was on the receiving end of a brutal beat down from the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H. The purpose of the beat down was to get Reigns off of television for a few weeks, so he could have surgery to fix a deviated septum, and recover in time for WrestleMania 32.

Another reason why WWE wanted to get Reigns off of television is because they wanted to build up Triple H vs. Dean Ambrose for this Saturday’s Roadblock show.

WWE hasn’t announced when Reigns will be returning on television, but they are advertising that he will be on the March 21 RAW show in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Whether or not the Reigns vs. Triple H story is centered around the WWE World Heavyweight Championship when Reigns returns remains to be seen. Some are thinking, well, mostly hoping, that WWE is planning to have Dean Ambrose defeat Triple H this Saturday night, which would mean that Ambrose will go into WrestleMania 32 as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

As of this writing, Roman Reigns vs. Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is still the planned main event for WrestleMania 32. But who knows? Maybe WWE will have a change of heart and decide that Dean Ambrose is their guy instead of Reigns.

Reigns was originally scheduled to return at the live events this week, but WWE ended up pulling him from all of them. He was also scheduled to wrestle Sheamus on the Roadblock show, but that match now isn’t happening.

Expect WWE to add some things to the Reigns vs. Triple H match in the coming weeks. It’s expected that Shawn Michaels will end up being the guest referee for the match, while The Rock will be in Reigns’ corner during the match.

Some have been expecting that Vince McMahon will be in Triple H’s corner at WrestleMania 32, but now it looks like he won’t be because of his heavy involvement in the Shane McMahon vs. Undertaker storyline. But that doesn’t mean that Triple H won’t have anyone in his corner, as Stephanie McMahon will likely be at ringside for the match.

There have been rumors that former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will be at WrestleMania 32, and that she’ll be joining The Rock in Roman Reigns’ corner.

If Stephanie McMahon is going to be in Triple H’s corner instead of Vince, then having Rousey join The Rock in Reigns’ corner makes a ton of sense. The plan could be to have The Rock take out Shawn Michaels, who will presumably be an unfair referee in the match, and then Rousey will take out Stephanie, while a new referee enters the ring and counts the pin for Reigns.

At the end of the show, in an attempt to get the WrestleMania audience to embrace Reigns as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, both Ronda Rousey and The Rock could endorse him. But we’ve seen the people turn against The Rock when he tried to endorse Reigns in the past, so that may happen again at AT&T Stadium.

As of this moment, there hasn’t been any word on if Ronda Rousey will actually be at WrestleMania. But at one point WWE was planning on having her there. But if she’s not, then The Rock will likely be the only one in Reigns’ corner in the main event.

If Reigns returns to WWE television on March 21 as advertised, then we should get a clearer picture of what the WrestleMania 32 main event will look like, as we’ll only be two weeks away from the show at that point.
