Drake To Drop ‘Views From The 6’ In Late April? Fans Speculate Over New Release Date Rumors

Drake may have confirmed an April release date for his upcoming Views From the 6 album, but will fans have to wait until later in the month to get their hands on Drake’s latest release?

Drake has been dropping some serious hints about Views From the 6‘s impending release on Instagram, most recently revealing that he’s in the “home stretch” when it comes to completing the highly anticipated album, albeit neglecting to confirm an official release date for Views.

In January, Drake addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding his new album during a hosting gig for OVO Sound Radio in which he promised fans that the official cover art, track list, and release date for Views would be announced closer to its tentative release date in April.

With just weeks left in March and still no announcement from Drake regarding Views From the 6‘s release, fans are now speculating that the previously rumored April 1 drop date for the album may not hold true.

On Thursday, Drake took to Instagram to show his support for fellow OVO Sound artist, dvsn, by announcing that their debut album, Sept. 5th, would be available starting on April 1. With the news of dvsn’s April 1 release having been personally confirmed by Drake, some fans are now speculating that it’s unlikely that Drake would release his new album so close to the release date of another OVO Sound artist.

One fan took to Twitter to speculate, “With another OVO artist(s) dropping April 1st, Drake won’t drop. Have to wait a little longer into the month for Views (I’m assuming).”

“So that theory about Drake dropping Views on 4/1/16 is a no go now!” another fan adds in response to dvsn’s confirmed release date for their new album.

With the speculation that an early April release for Views From the 6 is unlikely, rumors are now suggesting that Drake will release his new album on April 16 as a nod to the (416) area code of his native Toronto, Hot New Hip Hop reports.

Similarly, with Drake’s history of dropping new music via OVO Sound Radio on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio, some fans continue to speculate that Drake may debut Views From the 6 on the radio program during a Saturday next month.

The news comes on the heels of news suggesting that Drake is teaming up with other members of his OVO Sound crew for a star-studded collaborative album that is rumored to drop later this year.

iLoveMakonnen opened up about the OVO group album rumors during an interview with Huffington Post Live earlier this week, telling the site that although he “can’t say too much” about the project, it “exists, but we’ll just see when it comes out.”

Speaking further on the collaborative album, iLoveMakonnen speculates that the LP may drop in “October sometime,” before asking, “Wouldn’t that be great?”

In a separate interview with Montreality earlier this week, iLoveMakonnen responded to questions regarding Drake’s upcoming Views album, telling the site that while he’s heard the album, he isn’t sure which tracks will ultimately make it to the final cut on the project.

“I don’t even know, ’cause I hear so many songs and then they’ll be like, ‘It’s going on there,'” he reveals. “And then it’s like s*** came out four months ago or something. So it’s like, ‘Oh, it’s going to definitely be a good album, though.’ I’m nervous.”
