Obama: Stop Blaming Me For Donald Trump And GOP ‘Crackup’

President Barack Obama emphatically rejected Republicans’ blame for the rise of the the party’s presidential front-runner, Donald Trump, calling the GOP’s presidential race a “crackup,” in a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Ever since the old bitter joke, “Thanks Obama!” Republicans have blamed Obama for everything, sometimes legitimately, and other times, citations are still needed. The GOP has blamed Obama for Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy, Obamacare, ISIS, and now Donald Trump himself.

Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly — the nation’s ultimate republican — said on his show that if Donald Trump wins the GOP nomination, he should thank President Obama with a “very nice gift for making that possible.”

Obama, of course, was nonplussed. In Thursday’s conference, he strongly rejected any and all blame for Trump, saying that he isn’t responsible for the “crackup” that is the GOP’s presidential race.

“I have been blamed by Republicans for a lot of things, but being blamed for their primaries and who they’re selecting for their party is novel.”

Obama told reporters, according to Yahoo! News, the idea that the GOP would blame him for their own candidates is absurd.

Obama expressed his surprise that the Republican party would even blame him for whom their supporters are leaning towards and whom they want to nominate — the blunt businessman Donald Trump — and rejected all blame for the rise of Trump. No more “Thanks Obama!” jokes.

He will not take this responsibility, he seemed to say at this conference, after all the other accusations that have been laid upon him during his eight-year presidency.

Even though President Barack Obama has spent a large part of his two terms in the White House being blamed by the Republicans for a number of issues, he has never reacted so strongly against such accusations.

In his flat statement, Obama explained that it is not him, but the Republican party itself who is to blame for the outspoken demagogue Trump.

As Yahoo! News reports, Obama turned the blame of Trump around to the Republican party.

“What you’re seeing within the Republican Party is, to some degree, all those efforts creating an environment where someone like a Donald Trump can thrive.”

So, Obama basically blamed the GOP as a breeding ground for crass, outspoken, and populist leaders such as Donald Trump. After eight years of insults and name-calling (almost like Trump’s name-calling, but less explicit and crass of course), he is finally attacking the Republican party back.

President Barack Obama even charged that the conservative media and the GOP itself has programmed the people to blame him for just about everything, suggesting that he is tired of it.

Of the Republican party, he said that it has indoctrinated and brainwashed its supporters with “a notion that everything I do is to be opposed, that cooperation, compromise somehow is a betrayal.”

President Obama’s has, by now, completely subverted the conversation, turning the GOP’s blaming of their biggest headache — Donald Trump — on him, into a conversation of not only how Trump and his extremism is a product of the GOP, but also of how the Republican party is against compromise, and has been making more and more of its voters against it too.

And so, in the course of this press conference, Barack Obama turned one of the Republicans’ less provable claims — that Donald Trump is actually Obama’s fault — into an attack on the entire party and its anti-compromise ideologies.
