Ariel Winter Comes To Kim Kardashian’s Defense Over Naked Selfie
When reality star Kim Kardashian West posts a racy selfie, just about anyone has something to say. Actress Ariel Winter is just the latest celebrity to chime in on Kardashian West’s throwback nude selfie, and Winter thinks that people should just calm down about it.
The internet went into a tizzy when Kardashian West posted the latest of her infamous selfies on her Instagram page. The selfie shows the reality star posing in front of her mirror with two black bars covering her private parts. While Bette Midler mocked Kardashian West, Ariel Winter defended her, and even pointed out the double standard that women face when posting racy selfies.

The Modern Family star took to her Twitter yesterday to ask why someone like Justin Bieber can post a nude selfie, but Kardashian West is the target of body-shaming from men and women.
No one was body shaming @justinbieber when he posted his nude guitar photo so why @KimKardashian? #herbodyherchoice #InternationalWomensDay

Unfortunately, when Winter mentioned Bieber’s name, that allegedly caught the ire of Beliebers, many of whom supposedly tweeted back at Winter.
Why am I being attacked by @justinbieber fans when I'm a fan of his music too…?

That didn’t stop Winter from speaking out and stating that people are free to do with their bodies as they wish. The actress also retweeted some people’s tweets that promoted body positive statements.
I think everyone, men and women, should have the right to choose what they do with their bodies– and not be criticized.

Winter made her own headlines when she had breast reduction surgery last June, as reported by People. Winter explained that when her cup size changed dramatically, people and the media started concentrating more on her figure than her acting.
In fact, Winter also had her share of critics over certain photos that highlighted her curvy figure. Three months ago, Winter posted on her Instagram account a photo of a woman’s legs that had markings like a ruler, with words such as “flirty,” “proper,” and “slut” marked at certain lengths.
Winter used that opportunity to say to others to stop policing other women on how they should dress, and that all girls and women should be free to feel beautiful no matter what.

Ariel Winter showed off her new figure at the 22nd Screen Actors Guild Awards in January in a strapless black dress. Winter ended up defending her decision to show her surgery scars, stating that she’s not ashamed to keep them uncovered, and she’s proud of her entire body.
Many celebrities came to Kim Kardashian West’s defense, such as Amber Rose, Kylie Jenner, Bella Thorne, and Kourtney Kardashian, while others such as Piers Morgan, Bette Midler, and Chloë Grace Moretz criticized Kardashian West for being a poor role model to young women.
Damn pink we were all born naked society sexualizes our breast and bodies. If a grown mother of… https://t.co/nIebFB9xGL

There's a huge difference in respecting the platform that you're given as a celebrity and "slut shaming" something I never have done and –

Miley Cyrus, no stranger to showing off her body and posting attention-seeking posts and images on her social media accounts, thought that the entire nude selfie debate was pointless, especially when it occurred during International Women’s Day.
“Dear women, you ALL are acting tacky AF! Why don’t we overly (myself included) fortunate women come together and try to create and bring jobs to other women in desperate need of them so they can support not only THEMSELVES but their families!””
By Wednesday, Ariel Winter continued to post positive messages, and made references to honor International Women’s Day.
