Kim Kardashian Links Nude Selfie Backlash To Sex Tape & Slut-Shaming: Kanye West, Miley Cyrus, & Pink Chime In

Kim Kardashian has been taking the role of observer for months when it comes to her husband Kanye West’s infamous Twitter rants. Now, after posting nude selfies that resulted in a more overwhelming backlash than Kanye ever rapped about, Kim is finding herself at the center of an internet war, with even celebrities taking sides on the topic. And the star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians is fighting back, with rants so worthy of West that it sounded as if Kanye had given her some Twitter-tirade lessons.

But while Chloe Grace Moretz and Bette Midler were among those chiming in with their views initially and joining in the bashing, Miley Cyrus sought to take a different approach, reported People.

Bella Thorne and Emily Ratajkowski also sounded off with different views, opining that those involved in bashing Kardashian’s nude selfies are engaged in body-shaming. As for Miley? Cyrus wants them all to unite rather than fight.

“Dear women, you ALL are acting tacky AF!” posted Miley on social media. “Why don’t we overly (myself included) fortunate women come together and try to create and bring jobs to other women in desperate need of them so they can support not only THEMSELVES but their families! #happyinternationalwomensday”

While Cyrus urge that women unite, Bella used the #happyinternationalwomensday hashtag to take a different approach.

Moreover, Emily felt that men should not be participating in the backlash.

“Love when a man comments on a woman’s decision to post a nude photo,” tweeted Ratajkowski. “Her body, her career. Sexist bulls—.”

Scream Queens actress Abigail Breslin also joined Team Kardashian on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Kardashian herself defended her right to post nude selfies with an essay entitled “Happy International Women’s Day” that challenged what she views as slut-shaming and contends that all the backlash is linked to her sex tape, reported E! News.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star challenged those claiming she is a bad role model for posting those nude selfies.

“I don’t do drugs, I hardly drink, I’ve never committed a crime—and yet I’m a bad role model for being proud of my body?” she questioned.

“It always seems to come back around to my sex tape. Yes, a sex tape that was made 13 years ago. 13 YEARS AGO. Literally that lonnng ago. And people still want to talk about it?!?! I lived through the embarrassment and fear, and decided to say who cares, do better, move on.”

Taking her position a step further, the mom of North and Saint also contends that she feels posting nude selfies is an act of empowerment.

“I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin. I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me,” she added. “It’s 2016. The body-shaming and slut-shaming—it’s like, enough is enough.”

Disagreeing with that defense was Pink, who threw shade on Kardashian, noted E! News.

“Shout out to all of the women, across the world, using their brains, their strength, their work ethic, their talent, their ‘magic’ that they were born with, that only they possess,” wrote Pink. “It may not ever bring you as much ‘attention’ or bank notes as using your body, your sex, your tits and a*ses, but women like you don’t need that kind of ‘attention.'”

Ouch.

Amid all this controversy, how does Kanye feel about the situation? West finally ended his silence on the topic of his wife’s nude selfies by posting a photo of her naked body with a single word that summed up his feelings, reported the Mirror.

“muse,” tweeted Kanye with that nude picture of his spouse.

In addition to revealing that Kardashian inspires him, West shared how much he misses her and their children.

Moreover, an insider told Hollywood Life that Kanye feels those haters should be expressing gratitude for the nude selfies of his wife that have gone viral.

“People should be grateful and thankful they’re seeing her perfectly sculpted for free. That’s Kanye’s take,” revealed the insider. “In his eyes, his wife is perfect. She can do no wrong.”
