iPhone 4 Pricing Slashed By $50 At Best Buy

Best Buy on Friday knocked $50 off the price of a new iPhone 4 with a two-year contract. The deal was posted on the company’s online store Friday morning and the new pricing model applies to the “big three” carriers, Sprint, AT&T Wireless and Verizon Wireless.

In the past few months several vendors have offered discounted pricing however they eventually raised those prices after short sales periods. With the iPhone 5 expected in October it is likely Best Buy will continue the current pricing model in an attempt to help Apple clear out some of its iPhone 4 stock.

Apple iOS users tend to shy away from a previous models generation once a new model enters the market, even if the slightly older device witnesses extreme cost cutting measures. For that reason company’s holding onto Apple item stock tend to push hard for sales ahead of new models.

Convincing customers to buy an older Apple iPhone model may not be so easy for Best Buy this time around, Apple during its June Quarter financial report noted that churn was down to 1% as customers await the arrival of the sixth-generation iPhone.

Once the Apple iPhone 5 is released the iPhone 4 which now comes at a $50 discount will be the lowest end iPhone currently being offered by the big three wireless carriers.

In the meantime the iPhone 3GS is currently free with a two-year contract because of its legacy status and aging infrastructure.

Will you be picking up an iPhone 4 at a $50 savings or waiting for the iPhone 5 to reach market?
