Ben Higgins Turns Down ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Gig? ‘The Bachelor’ Explains His ‘DWTS’ Dilemma

Ben Higgins is just one week away from handing out his final rose on The Bachelor and there are rumors that his time in the spotlight won’t end on March 14. The Dancing with the Stars season 22 cast reveal is set to take place on Good Morning America on March 8 and many fans expect to see Ben’s name on the cast list.

However, the newly-engaged Denver software salesman has mixed feelings about taking the DWTS gig, perhaps because his relationship is already off to a stressful start.

Last week, Us Weekly talked to Ben after he taped the “Women Tell All” special that is set to air on March 7. He confirmed that he is still engaged to the girl he proposed to when the final rose ceremony was taped in November, but his new relationship has not been easy.

Ben states that he has put his fiancee through “hell and back” after telling her that she wasn’t the only woman he fell in love with on the show. He came clean about saying “I love you” to his two final picks after the proposal during a week-long stay in Jamaica and admits the situation has not been easy on her.

Ben states that his relationship continues to “move forward” and they have been talking things out, but when it comes to moving on to another reality show like Dancing with the Stars, he’s understandably conflicted.

E! News reporter Will Marfuggi asked Ben at the WTA taping whether or not he will compete on Dancing with the Stars this month, Ben said that he needs to figure out if it’s the best thing for him to do.

“I’m not against any opportunity that presents itself,” Ben told E! News. “I need to analyze if that option was there to say, OK, is this the best thing for me?” I don’t know yet, I don’t. I don’t want to say this is the way I’m going to go with it because I haven’t decided.”

The cast for DWTS season 22 has already been selected and ABC is slowly leaking out the names of the confirmed celebrity dancers ahead of the GMA cast reveal on Tuesday. So far, Ginger Zee and Jodie Sweetin have been confirmed, but there is a long list of rumored cast members including Von Miller, Kim Fields, Marla Maples, Mischa Barton, Nyle DiMarco, Geraldo Rivera, Doug Flutie, and Antonio Brown.

Ben Higgins name has been on the DWTS rumored list for weeks. Although ABC has not commented on the rumors, spoiler site Pure DWTS states that the line-up does not include the Bachelor — so we’re all a bit confused.

Despite the rumors that he may or may not be joining season 22 of Dancing with the Stars, Bachelor fans may have to wait another week to find out for sure. The Good Morning America cast reveal will take place between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. ET on Tuesday, but Ben’s season doesn’t wrap up until one week later on Monday, March 14.

If he is dancing this season, ABC will wait until after the season finale airs next Monday to break the news. Last year, the network kept Bachelor Chris Soules‘ name under wraps, calling him the “mystery contestant” until his season finale aired.

While fans wait to find out if Ben Higgins will put on his dancing shoes or concentrate on his new relationship with his bride-to-be, there are still two more episodes of the Bachelor left to watch.

Tune in to watch the “Women Tell All” on Monday, March 6, followed by the Bachelor Season Finale and live After the Final Rose special on March 14 at 8 p.m. ET.
