‘Star Wars’ 8: Daisy Ridley Suggests More Spoilers On ‘Star Wars’ Sequels, Says They Are Going To Be More Open About Plot

With the success of Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens, fans are expecting to get more details on the next sequel. However, since Star Wars sequels are expected to launch one year apart, there is very little time to explore the rumors and possibilities of the next films.

Though the mystery heightens the anticipation, the fans have become too affixed with the spoilers and twists that many are “arguably going to be less invested in the perceived ‘drama,’ waiting instead for the moments from the previews rather than being captivated by what’s happening on-screen,” according to Screenrant.

Star Wars protagonist Daisy Ridley actually has no reservations on this issue. In a red carpet interview, Daisy Ridley actually spoiled the fact that she is currently working with Mark Hamill. Though Mark Hamill did not have any line on The Force Awakens, he is expected to have a major contribution on Star Wars VIII.

Based on her answers, people are now excited to see the opening of Star Wars Episode 8, since it will be a direct continuation of the previous film. If this will be the real setting of the next movie, it will be a new move for the Star Wars franchise because they usually have year gaps between installments. This will also give the fans some closure on the conversation between Rey and Luke that got a short cut on The Force Awakens.

Daisy Ridley also spoke about the narrative that the writers have brought to life. She said that “it’s such a good story” and that the new episode is “so cool.”

Less Mystery From Maestro J.J. Abrams

Since the fans are now getting more adept to finding the twists and spoilers, the Star Wars production team may plan to reduce that kind of habit by releasing more information on the new movies.

When Daisy Ridley spoke with ET, she confirmed that this might be the next step of action for their marketing team. With Rian Johnson stepping in on J.J. Abram’s shoes, she said they plan to give out a couple more details to the public.

“I think Rian actually wants to be a bit cheekier with the little tidbits of information that come out. You can see, even with the way Mark and Carrie posted pictures with their chairs, it’s a little bit freer.”

In terms of exact teasers, Daisy Ridley said that the fans can expect the movie overview to be available to them. They want to give out the basic details of the film, but they still want to maintain that anticipation of not knowing what will happen to the main characters of the film.

Daisy Ridley said they did this approach with Star Wars VII and it has been very effective. It also helps that the stars of the movie are posting a couple of previews on their social media accounts.

Star Wars VIII will revolve around Rey and the storyline will continue to highlight Finn, Poe, and Luke Skywalker.

The screenplay for the movie is written by Rian Johnson and the characters were written out by George Lucas. The film will have the major casts Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Adam Driver on the roster. But there are also some new faces.

Star Wars VIII is expected to be out on Dec. 15, 2017 and is bound to go toe to toe with another blockbuster franchise, Avatar.
