Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick Has Dinner With ‘Good Friend’ Donald Trump

The New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick had dinner last night with “good friend” Donald Trump. While the business mogul and GOP presidential front-runner prepared to give a speech to the media in Florida, he took some time out of his schedule to have dinner with Belichick and his girlfriend at Mar-a-Lago before heading back on the campaign trail. Belichick’s girlfriend, Linda Holliday, boasted about the dinner on her Instagram page but it isn’t the first time Trump has received kind words and support from the Patriots team.

Boston.com reports that Bill Belichick was photographed having dinner with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago while on the campaign trail in Florida. Belichick and his girlfriend Linda had dinner with the business mogul and smiled happily for photographs along with the GOP front-runner. Linda took to Instagram to share the photos calling Donald Trump a “good friend” of herself and boyfriend Bill Belichick.

“Enjoyed dinner at Mar-a-Lago this evening with our good friend Donald Trump.”

The friendship will come as no surprise to Patriots fans as Belichick isn’t the first Patriots figurehead to denote a friendship with the businessman. Quarterback Tom Brady was seen with a “Make America Great Again” hat in his locker and claims that Trump is a “good friend” who has done some “amazing” things. Brady notes that he has known Trump for 15 years and that he has “always been so supportive of me.”

“Donald is a good friend of mine. I have known him for a long time. I support all my friends. That is what I have to say. He’s a good friend of mine. He’s always been so supportive of me — for the last 15 years, since I judged a beauty pageant for him, which was one of the very first things that I did that I thought was really cool. That came along with winning the Super Bowl. He’s always invited me to play golf. I’ve always enjoyed his company.”

In addition to Belichick and Brady’s support, Trump is also considered a friend to Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

In an interview with the TMZ Sports crew, Kraft passed on a chance to call-out Trump for passing on purchasing the Patriots back in the 1980s noting that he wouldn’t question anything Trump does in regards to finances.

“Donald Trump is a very good investor, I wouldn’t question anything he does.”

CBS Sports reports that Kraft has also noted that he is “grateful” for Trump’s continued friendship and that though he does not typically discuss politics, he says he is comfortable talking about his friendships and that includes his friendship with Donald Trump who just so happens to be in politics. Kraft says that Trump assisted him during the “most difficult time in his life” and that he will forever be grateful for what Trump did for him. He goes so far as to note that Trump was one of the only people there when he needed him.

“While I am not comfortable discussing politics publicly, I am very comfortable talking about my friendships with people who happen to be in politics. [Trump] and I have had a lot of fun together socially, including a very memorable evening in 2005 when I had the privilege of being at his and Melania’s wedding. He was one of the few people who went out of their way and went above and beyond to assist me through the most difficult time in my life. I will always be grateful to him for his thoughtfulness and his continued friendship.”

The Patriot-Trump friendship isn’t a one-way street. The businessman has given the Patriots numerous shout-outs on his Twitter account, even taking up for the team after deflate gate. Trump calls Brady “a friend,” noting he is a “total winner.”
