Willie Hantz, the Big Brother reality show cast member who was evicted for headbutting another house guest, was reportedly arrested early this morning in his home state of Louisiana on suspicion of drunk driving.

According to TMZ, Hantz, 34, was stopped in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, at 2:07 a.m. for OWI–operating a vehicle while intoxicated. An update from TMZ suggests that Hantz may have led the police on a brief foot chase and that he refused to take a breathalyzer or a blood test.

Realty television seems to run in the family. Willie Hantz is the younger brother of Survivor villain Russell Hantz, who has appeared on the latter show three times so far. Russell Hantz is apparently one of only two players in Survivor history to make it twice to the finals and lose according to IMDB.

The U.S. version of Big Brother is now in its 14th season on CBS television. The series concept is an import from the Netherlands. Since its debut in 2000 in our country, Big Brother has run continuously with at least one season of the show airing each year. The current game began with 12 houseguests plus four returning “coaches.” The show generally gets good ratings for the CBS Network. The Big Brother format has become a worldwide TV franchise, airing in many countries in somewhat different configurations.

Willie Hantz apparently had a difficult time getting along with his fellow cast members and physically attacked one of them. Here is the Big Brother sequence that led to Hantz’s immediate expulsion from the competition. Interestingly, while violence is understandably prohibited in the Big Brother house, virtually everything else is up for grabs.
