And, since we are on the subject, you'd better get a writer who knows how to adapt a book well and can give the actors something worth saying and a story worth telling. (Studios botch up adaptations ALL THE TIME. The Twilight series is a case in point – decent book, lousy adaptations.)

Totally agree. Henry Cavill is Christian Grey! His Dunhill ads on you tube scream fifty & run like a 50 shades mini movie. He has played all sides of 50 in some form on Tudors & had no problem with the steamy scenes. He can do boyish & playful yet dominate in the red room & blow hot & cold. He is the only one with the looks,body,resume & the experience with the nudity & steamy scenes. He can do it all. No one else has that kind of resume except Alexander Skarsgard who even though is good looking is just not greek godly to me.

AS for Ana. The perfect choice is Alexandra Daddario. She has the BLUE eyes to big for her face,alabaster skin,long brown hair & pouty lips. She would not have to change a thing. She has an innocent beauty requiring no makeup yet at 26 looks 22 & is mature enough for the explicit scenes.

I'm not that familiar with many of the younger actors, being 63 myself. but in researching Mr. Bomer, he fits the description of Christian Grey just about perfectly, has the eye "look"; but, just might need to bulk up a bit. Seems too slim. The big question, can he ACT the part. Can he be "mercurial" enoough to carry it off? If this movie isn't done well, it won't be worth seeing,
