Matt Bomer To Play Christian Grey?

Have we finally found our Christian Grey in Matt Bomer? After months of speculation, and actors like Ian Somerhalder and Alexander Skarsgard campaigning for their own shot to play the elusive BDSM character, it looks like White Collar actor Matt Bomer is looking like the best option to play Mr. Grey in the film Fifty Shades of Grey, or at least according to Entertainment Weekly.

On stands now the issue of Entertainment Weekly features Matt Bomer, with the headline that reads “Fifty Shades of Grey: The wait is over. Matt Bomer talks about changing the white collar for a grey time.” Well, that sounds pretty concrete to us, right?

Not so fast–even though Entertainment Weekly is adament that Matt Bomer is the man to play Christian Grey, the 34-year-old actor has not been officially confirmed by a studio head. Which begs us to ask, is Entertainment Weekly just hoping to sell issues of their magazine? It may just be so, but if you ask any housewife it’s obvious that Matt Bomer is on the tips of their tongues, and it seems like Bomer himself is very much aware of why.

So far favorites such as Ian Somerhalder, Henry Cavill, and Ryan Gosling can rest easy–for now. Either way, Fifty Shades of Grey is already such a popular gig to nab with the book being such a success for author E.L. James, directors interest are even cropping up. Directors such as Bret Ellis, are coming out of the wood work to offer their services to the film, that’s yet to cast someone to take charge. Ellis, who’s currently directing the new raunchy Lindsay Lohan and James Deen film wrote on Twitter, “Okay. Today the team has been briefed and we will be approaching the studio this week about BEE adapting ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ into a film.”

As far as who Ellis wants for the role of Anastasia Steele, he’s eyeing Lena Dunham, Kristen Stewart and Scarlett Johansson. Who do you think would make the best choice for the two leads?
