Usain Colt and Usain Bolt have 8 letters in common, but at the moment, that’s about it. The 3-year-old thoroughbred is hoping that its almost-famous name will help it win a few races this summer in Britain.

Usain Bolt, who is known as the world’s fastest man, will be trying to add to his gold medal collection during the 2012 London Olympic Games. Usain Colt, who has been training in seclusion at the University of Birmingham, is hoping to one day become the world’s fastest horse.

Jake Warren, one of the horse’s handlers, said:

“He’s quite a big horse. He’s very athletically built and has lots of character… He’s a laid-back horse with a big personality and has a presence like no other… Not other than Bolt, of course.”

Usain is pretty busy with the Olympic games at the moment but Warren is hoping that the famous sprinter will be able to find sometime in his schedule to come down and meet the horse.

Warren said:

“Usain Bolt is not the easiest person to get a hold of these days, but I’d like to hope that Usain Colt’s chance to meet him after the Olympics would be boosted if the horse wins a race this summer.”

According to the Associated Press, the horse is partly owned by Prince Harry. Harry reportedly joined the Birdcage Racing Club. The club pays an annual fee and shares the prize money earned by horses like Usain Colt.

When Bolt and Prince Harry met in Jamaica, Bolt said:

“To have a race horse named after you by someone who owns it like Prince Harry for me is an honor. He’s going to do great, takes time, work his way up.”

Usain Bolt is known as the world’s fastest man but he’s had some trouble this summer beating his teammate Yohan Blake. (He also apparently lost to a drunken Mickey Rourke earlier this year.) Do you think Usain Bolt will win a Gold medal this year?
