‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 22 Cast: Ginger Zee And More Set To Dance


Dancing with the Stars has another official cast member for Season 22. On Friday morning, Good Morning America revealed that their very own Ginger Zee will be among the show’s competitors this year. The meteorologist will be paired with professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy. Zee is the second, officially confirmed competitor for Dancing with the Stars Season 22. The other is Jodie Sweetin of Fuller House. She will be paired with professional dancer Keo Motsepe. The full roster for Dancing with the Stars Season 22 will be announced on the Tuesday broadcast of Good Morning America, but there has been news of other celebrities we can expect to see on that list.

Earlier this week, Us Weekly reported that their source informed them that 30-year-old Mischa Barton will also appear on Dancing with the Stars with Artem Chigvintsev as her instructor and partner. Barton is most known for her role as Marissa Cooper on The OC. They also confirmed that Dancing with the Stars Season 22 competitors will include Nyle DiMarco from cycle 22 of America’s Next Top Model as well as Kim Fields from The Real Housewives of Atlanta. DiMarco will be the second deaf contestant to appear on Dancing with the Stars and is expected to be paired with Peta Murgatroyd. Kim Fields is rumored to be partnered with Sasha Farber.

Us Weekly has confirmed another Dancing with the Stars Season 22 competitor, Marla Maples. Marla is best known as the ex-wife of Donald Trump. The actress has reportedly been interested in being on Dancing with the Stars as far back as 2008, but it never worked out until now. Maples had one child with Donald Trump, 22-year-old Tiffany Trump. Rumor has it that Marla will dance with Dancing with the Stars professional dancer Tony Dovolani. MMA fighter Paige VanZant is also rumored to be slated to appear in the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars.

Where are the male competitors for this season of Dancing with the Stars? Well, according to Hollywood Take some athletes are rumored to be joining this year’s dance-off. Among the rumored male competitors are former NFL quarterback Doug Flutie with professional dancer Karina Smirnoff and current NFL stars Antonio Brown (wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers) and Von Miller (outside linebacker for the Denver Broncos and Super Bowl 50 MVP).

Other changes have previously been announced about the next round of Dancing with the Stars episodes. Veteran DWTS judge Len Goodman will return this year. He had to sit out last year due to some prior commitments he had made and needed to honor. Which means that one of the Dancing with the Stars judges is leaving, fan favorite Julianne Hough. But, all indications are that fans haven’t seen the last of her on DWTS. Hough is part of the Dancing with the Stars family and both she and people from DWTS have indicated she will likely be back in some capacity. Also missing from this season of Dancing with the Stars will be Julianne’s brother, Derek Hough. He has been the winning professional dancer for six seasons straight, but is taking a break from DWTS to perform on Broadway in Singing in the Rain according to CNN. He will perform the role played by Gene Kelly in the film version of Singing in the Rain.

Dancing with the Stars has been on the air since 2005. It’s based on a British show by the name of Strictly Come Dancing.Dancing with the Stars has won 14 Primetime Emmys including one that went to Derek Hough, Julianne Hough, and Tessandra Chavez for Outstanding Choreography in 2015.
