Lumberjacks beware! A man in Tiburon, California attempted to run over a pedestrian simply because the unfortunately walker was wearing a plaid jacket.

The drive, 31-year-old Eugene Anderson was fuming after he left his house on Monday following a domestic dispute. As Anderson jumped into his car and sped down Tiburon Boulevard he became increasingly enraged.

According to Tiburon police Sgt. Steve Hahn Anderson was on his way to purchase a pack of cigarettes when he spotted the plaid wearing pedestrian who jumped out-of-the-way. When asked why the man would try to run over a complete stranger Hahn revealed:

“He made statements to the effect of: He didn’t like the plaid jacket the man was wearing.”

Hahn was quick to point out that the plaid jacket wasn’t all that ‘loud’ in terms of its pattern. Hahn continued:

“I guess he was just really angry with whomever he saw.”

Trying to run down a pedestrian with his car landed Anderson under arrest on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. No surprise here but no one posted the mans $50,000 bail.

Eugene Anderson is currently awaiting a court appearance, until that time he will remain behind bars in the Marin County Jail.

The attempted plaid killer originally sped off which forced police to search the area for a Honda that had headed westbound down Tiburon Boulevard. Anderson allegedly made incriminating statements in which he told officers that he wanted to hit the plaid wearing pedestrian because of their choice in clothing.
