Who Is Geraldo Rivera Of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 22?

Season 22 of Dancing with the Stars airs this spring and Geraldo Rivera is going to be one of the celebrities hitting the dance floor. The cast for this spring 2016 offering is quite the interesting one and DWTS fans will be curious to see how well Rivera does. He is said to have a fan-favorite pro who is returning to the show after a lengthy hiatus, and that could be just the nudge he needs to go full-force after the mirror ball trophy. What do viewers need to know about Geraldo?

Geraldo Rivera has been in the news and talk show business for decades now, and he can currently be seen on Fox via The Five. Many know that Dancing with the Stars will not be Rivera’s first foray into reality television. He also appeared on The Celebrity Apprentice last year, Donald Trump’s last with the series, coming in second to Leeza Gibbons.

Rivera has been a guest commentator on many shows over the years, appearing on programs such as Fox and Friends, Hannity, and The O’Reilly Factor. Fox details that the journalist was an original team member of Good Morning America and spent eight years with 20/20. Geraldo has also had several shows of his own both on television and radio and has done extensive work as a foreign correspondent. His fans know that he tends to be brash and oftentimes controversial, rarely hesitating to express his opinions.

This new Dancing with the Stars contestant graduated from the University of Arizona as well as the Brooklyn Law School. The New York native has authored seven books. Geraldo currently lives on the East Coast. Rivera has five children and is currently married to his fifth wife, Erica Michelle Levy. As Biograpy details, Geraldo married his current wife in 2003 and they have a daughter named Solita Liliana, who was born in 2005. Rivera’s other children are Gabriel, Cruz, Isabella, and Simone.

According to PureDWTS, the 72-year-old journalist will be dancing with Edyta Sliwinska this spring. As Dancing with the Stars fans know, Edyta has been away from the show for quite a while, but viewers are certainly buzzing over the news that she is finally returning as a pro again.

The Polish dancer was part of Dancing with the Stars Season 1, where she partnered with Evander Holyfield and took fifth place. She went on to dance with other celebrities like Joey Lawrence, Jason Taylor, and soap stars Cameron Mathison and Aiden Turner before suddenly leaving DWTS after Season 10.

Sliwinska is married to fellow dancer Alec Mazo, who won DWTS Season 1 with Kelly Monaco and participated four times before leaving the show. The couple welcomed a son, Michael, in January 2014. Edyta and Alec’s departure from Dancing with the Stars generated quite a bit of buzz at the time, but folks are quite excited to hear that she will be back.

How well will Edyta and Geraldo do, given the talented Season 22 cast? Rivera and Sliwinska will be competing against others like Von Miller, Ginger Zee, Jodie Sweetin, and Paige VanZant, so this DWTS pair certainly has their work cut out for them.
