‘Call Of Duty’: Get A First Look At Footage From The Next Game At This Year’s E3

Call of Duty seems to have done the impossible in the video game world: take a successful franchise and continue to score big by spinning it off again and again. No matter how many times Call of Duty’s makers at Activision keep making sequels, fans seem to be eating the games up. If you’re one of the people who love the Call of Duty series, there’s good news coming out of this year’s E3: footage from the next game in the series is set to premiere there despite Activision’s absence from the actual conference.

MoviePilot got the digs on the new Call of Duty game, which they mentioned will be released this June. Though they haven’t gone into specifics, the site mentioned that the new member of the Call of Duty family is being labeled as “ambitious” and “innovative.” This is pretty much a given for the series, which has brought things like zombies, “ghosts,” and an advancement system worthy of an RPG to the traditional first-person shooter game.

So far, there is no word on the new Call of Duty’s official title, but some rumors have speculated that it will be dubbed either Call of Duty: Ghosts 2 or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Oddly enough, the game doesn’t appear on Activision’s website under New Releases, maybe because they want to keep it under wraps until E3. If you don’t want to wait for E3 to happen in June, you can check out the YouTube trailer for the game below. It discusses some of the leaked and speculative features that the new Call of Duty game may have when it hits store shelves.

While a lot of things are still up in the air, GamingBolt highlighted a job posting for a Game Design Intern on Infinity Ward’s website that makes it appear the intern will be developing a bunch of new features for the next Call of Duty title. These features aren’t exactly outlined in specific terms, but it’s likely the success of older games in the series will lead to some similar features from legacy versions, including Campaign mode, online multiplayer, and of course, the ever-popular Killstreak and Deathstreak rewards.

If you’re seriously dying for some first-person shooter action, an early beta version of Call of Duty: Black Ops III is out now for Playstation 4, as Inquisitr reported. Activision’s also introduced a new feature called the “Live Event Viewer,” which lets players watch Call of Duty World League matches from within their Black Ops games. This handy little feature takes online play to a whole new level, taking something most modern-day games offer and putting an entirely new twist on it.

Even though there’s no info available on the new Call of Duty game just yet, we might be able to speculate on what’s to come based on the tech and other content we’ve seen in older games. It’s pretty safe to say that there are going to be new killstreaks for the new Call of Duty game, even though we don’t quite know what they are yet, and there are likely to be new weapons as well.

In Call of Duty: Black Ops III, we were introduced to some zany new weapons like the Iron Jim (which is described as a “brute force melee weapon” that can defeat enemies with a single strike). In Black Ops II, the addition of a bouncing grenade known as a Bouncing Betty was one of the games’ weapons’ highlights. Let us know what you think we will see (or what you hope we’ll see) in the newest Call of Duty game below.
