‘Fuller House’ Season 2: John Stamos Will Beg The Olsen Twins To Reprise Michelle Tanner Role

John Stamos is really serious about getting the Olsen twins to appear on Fuller House. It seems now more than ever that Stamos is ready to sit down with the Olsen twins to talk about one or both coming back to reprise the role of the youngest Tanner sister, Michelle Tanner.

The reason for ignited interest in the return of Michelle Tanner is because Fuller House just got renewed for a second season, and this opens up the possibilities of including the Olsen twins.

Stamos sat down with the Today show’s Matt Lauer to speak about the possibility, and he felt optimistic about it all.

“They’re totally welcome. I was going to see Ashley last night and beg her to be on the show. We would love to have them. I know everybody would love to see them. I have a good feeling about it.”

Looks like Stamos is begging the wrong Olsen sister.

As the Inquisitr reported, Mary-Kate Olsen spoke about appearing on the show before filming was going down for the first season.

At the time, Mary-Kate Olsen said that if anyone was going to reprise the role of Michelle, it was her, because sister Ashley didn’t want to do it, as she left her acting career in the rearview and is serious about moving on. Mary-Kate said that while she considered returning to film an episode during the first season, in the end, the timing was incredibly bad and, it didn’t work out. Perhaps the timing will be better ahead of Season 2? John Stamos isn’t the only cast member who hopes one of the twins will return.

Bob Saget is hopeful that they can make something work, but even if they don’t, the Olsen twins’ TV father is still supportive of their choices to leave their acting careers behind.

During the red carpet premiere Saget said, “I’m friends with both of them, I love them a lot and they just didn’t really want to act that much, that’s not what they do. It would be fun if the show is a success, comes back and then they could show up. I don’t know. They will do what they want and I love them a lot.”

Producer Jeff Franklin still seems just as hopeful as John Stamos that one of the twins will come around. As it is, fans have been very passionate about Michelle being on screen and not just mentioned by another character.

“I am still hopeful that Mary-Kate or Ashley or both of them will come back and be a part of it, even if it’s just for an hour. We miss that. Everybody does feel that hole in the family, but it’s like, all family reunions, there’s always somebody that doesn’t show up. But hopefully next time around, we’ll have them back.”

Even though the Olsens weren’t in the first season, Michelle Tanner was there in spirit. During the pilot episode of the reboot, the cast broke the fourth wall to reveal that Michelle is in New York running her own fashion empire. The cast then paused to look at the audience for an uncomfortable beat or two as they cheered at the meta joke.

The meta jokes go even further. In another episode, Kimmy Gibbler’s daughter tells her mother about her new designer dress she got from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

Gibbler quips, “At these prices..no wonder they don’t need to act anymore.”

Do you think Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen will make an appearance on the second season of Fuller House?
