If you’re an uncompromising Marion Cotillard fan, a foreign film that’s finally hopping the pond may be for you.

Guillaume Canet’s Little White Lies is already a European box office hit, but unfortunately the Marion Cotillard helmed flick hasn’t hit stateside just yet. At the end of the summer, the film finally arrives in the U.S., and it’s hoping to draw a crowd with a raised profile and a very strong ensemble cast.

According to IndieWire, Little White Lies stars Marion Cotillard of The Dark Knight Rises, Oscar winner Jean Dujuardin of The Artist fame, and Francois Cluzet of The Intouchables in a stylistic dramedy that recalls The Big Chill. The film’s story follows “a group of longtime friends who reunite for their annual beach vacation despite a traumatic accident involving one of their own. During their seaside getaway, they all make discoveries about each other and are finally forced to own up to the little white lies they’ve been telling one another — and themselves.”

Of her various film incarnations since her first big break in the U.S. with the Johnny Depp headed Public Enemies, and her role in Little White Lies, Cotillard said “It was very different because for a few years I had travelled: from the ’20s to the ’60s with Piaf; and then to the ’40s with Public Enemies; then to the ’60s with Nine; Inception was… out of time. And then, suddenly, I can wear jeans, I can talk my own language. So it’s at the same time relaxing and really scary,” in an interview with LittleWhiteLiesUK (not to be confused with the film of the same name).

In case you’re unfamiliar with Cotillard, her film presence and loveliness are enough to turn the blood of any American Patriot hardcore Francophile.
