‘House Of Cards’ Season 4 Is War Between Frank And Claire [Video]

House of Cards is about to debut its fourth season on Netflix, and given where it left off last season, it should come as no surprise that the show is about to be a war of the Underwoods in the White House.

For those of you who need a refresher, House of Cards left off last season with Claire telling Frank that she was leaving him, and for the first time in the history of the show, Frank is truly stunned and at a loss for words. The expression on his face last year at the end was somewhat priceless, at least for fans who have only been able to see him one way and that would be classified as victorious and ruthless.

But how can he possibly be ruthless with his wife, who has been the cornerstone of all the success he has achieved? She was also the one who was privy to all of his dirty little secrets. But dirty might be an understatement for what Frank Underwood has done on House of Cards.

As reported by the Hollywood Reporter, season 4 of House of Cards is really going to shake up fan’s views for the show. Everything that you thought you knew about the fictional universe is about to slowly dissipate and there will be some shifts in the way it is presented as well.

Fans of the show know that House of Cards is well known for its “live narration,” meaning the character of Frank Underwood liked to “disappear” from the world around him and face the camera so he could address you in the audience with some of his thoughts and desires. It was kind of like reading a book and seeing dialogue in italics, which is what tells readers what a character is thinking.

But in season 4 of House of Cards, those rules have been changed and fans should not expect all of that personal attention from Frank Underwood. He is, after all, one of the dirtiest presidents that has ever lived, and that keeps him busy every second of the day. The character himself has even said on the show, “I loathe sleep,” following that up by saying he would rather be working his devious plans to make himself more powerful.

In the beginning, he was just an entertaining kind of bad. The kind of bad that some fans could really get behind and cheer for. He had his good sides, but they were never achieved by helping others, but rather by how he could help himself in Washington, D.C.

Near the end of the first season of House of Cards, he started to show his true colors that would eventually polarize the character and portray him as the man you have been watching since then.

It all started with him murdering the young senator that had so much to live for. It was a power play for him to move the chess pieces directly into place so that he could not only exact his revenge on the president, but eventually take his job.

Just to think all of that could have been avoided if they had given him the secretary of state job that they promised him in the campaign. What a tangled web that was weaved over the previous three season of House of Cards. But the web just expanded his reach and now he is the most powerful man in the world, about to become even stronger with every stroke of his pen and his words.

If any of you are wondering how Claire Underwood may turn out this season, you should probably remember back to the first episode of House of Cards in season 2. Did anyone else wonder just how far Chloe would go for her stories? Just consider what happened to her.

Season 4 of House of Cards premieres on Netflix tomorrow with all episodes instantly streaming.
