Caitlyn Jenner Adopting? Report Claims Jenner Is Trying To Adopt Baby Boy, Seen By Some As Publicity Stunt

Caitlyn Jenner is reportedly planning to adopt, with rumors that the reality television star is starting a family of her own — but could be doing it as a publicity stunt.

Jenner, who has a big family already with children from a previous marriage, kids with Kris Jenner and step-children in the Kardashian girls, now reportedly wants to adopt on her own. The child would be the first since Jenner’s transition last year, when she stopped living as Bruce Jenner and started living as Caitlyn.

That would make this the first time Caitlyn has had a child in a maternal role, Celeb Dirty Laundry noted.

The report claimed that there are rumors that this could be just a stunt to drum up publicity for Jenner’s reality show.

“According to In Touch Magazine, Kris Jenner thinks that Caitlyn is trying to adopt a baby boy for ratings for her reality show. Isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black? We’re pretty sure Kris Jenner has done FAR worse things for ratings – like for example sell her daughter’s sex tape.

“Of course the Kardashians are upset about Cait’s latest publicity scam and possible addition to the family – but only because they didn’t think of it first. The magazine goes on to tease that Caitlyn and the Kardashians had a “Explosive Family Showdown” over her adoption plans, and Kendall and Kylie left sobbing.”

The reports that Caitlyn Jenner is considering adopting comes after she has opened up more about her personal life. In the months since first announcing her transition, Jenner has begun to discuss her personal life more frequently, including the idea of dating after her transition.

In a recent season 2 teaser. for her show I Am Cait, the former Olympic star said she would be open to a relationship with a man, but in a Today interview she instead played shy.

“There is a revelation in the very first episode that you may be ready to start dating. Not just dating, but dating men?” anchor Natalie Morales asked (via People magazine).

“Yes there is a revelation in that. I know people are always interested in that,” said Jenner. “Right now, I am just so busy kind of doing what I’m doing. But it would be nice to kind of share your life with somebody. But hey, I’m open.”

Caitlyn Jenner also reiterated her support for the Republican Party, a stance that has earned her some criticism in the past. Before her transition, then-Bruce Jenner noted that he was a strong supporter of Republicans, but since the transition, some believed that Caitlyn Jenner would soften her stance. Some Republicans have opposed LGBT equality efforts, though Jenner said she would work on helping politicians open up on these issues.

It’s not clear how much truth there is to the rumor that Caitlyn Jenner is planning to adopt. There are seemingly endless rumors surrounding the Jenner/Kardashian clan, from reports that Kylie Jenner is selling a sex tape with boyfriend Tyga to back-and-forth rumors about who Khloe Kardashian is dating.

The sheer volume of reports surrounding the family make it difficult to determine what is true and what is not, especially when there are anonymous sources involved. But if Caitlyn Jenner is adopting, she could face some challenges beyond her high-profile lifestyle and the inevitable spotlight that would accompany the child. There is also her age — at 66, Caitlyn would be in her 80s when the child would be a teenager.
