‘Teen Mom OG’ Amber Portwood Makes A Big Change Following Matt Baier Controversy

Amber Portwood has made a major change as the drama surrounding her controversial fiancé, Matt Baier, continues. Following a number of insults hurled at her co-stars by Baier years ago, the longtime reality star seems to have focused her mind elsewhere.

On February 26, Wetpaint Entertainment reported news of Amber Portwood’s latest hair change, revealing she has gone from a highlighted blonde to a full blonde. On Twitter, the Teen Mom OG star shared a number of tweets in regard to her hair color, first revealing a photo, and later revealing she was nervous to undergo such a big change, but appreciated her fans’ support.

Several months ago, after years of a darker hue, Amber Portwood added blonde highlights, and now, as she prepares to wed Baier later this year, she’s considered a “platinum blonde.”

Throughout the currently airing sixth season of Teen Mom OG, Amber Portwood’s relationship with Baier has been spotlighted, and while they’ve shared their sweet moments, the couple has also experienced speculation into how many children Baier has fathered.

During one episode, Amber Portwood’s ex-fiance, Gary Shirley, the father of her six-year-old daughter, presented her with documentation that he claimed confirmed Baier had not two but seven children. Then, shortly after the episode aired, a Radar Online report claimed Baier actually had eight children.

“It’s not accurate,” Amber Portwood told MTV after the episode aired, according to an Us Weekly report. “He does only have five kids. Yes, I did know about them, but the other ones are older with families, and it wasn’t something that we wanted out.”

Amber Portwood went on to reveal during the interview that she was well-aware of Baier’s troubled past.

“His past was horrible. He wasn’t a good person back then,” she admitted. “He was a womanizing user. He was an addict, and that’s not an excuse, but that’s the type of person he was … We went through a rough patch because of this, because I had no trust in him anymore. We had to rebuild our trust again in our relationship.”

Also in Baier’s past were a number of tweets sent to Amber Portwood’s co-stars, including Jenelle Evans, Kailyn Lowry and Farrah Abraham.

Last week, OK! Magazine reported news of Baier’s comments leading to a feud between Amber Portwood and Evans. According to the magazine, Evans said “ew” when asked if Baier had hit on her as he did Abraham, prompting Amber Portwood to tell her to watch her mouth. Amber Portwood also said that she’d see Evans in March.

Around the same time, a series of tweets from 2014 showed Baier posting horribly mean tweets about Lowry, which discussed his dislike of her face. However, her reaction was far different than that of Evans.

After seeing that Baier had taken aim at her looks online, Amber Portwood’s co-star revealed she didn’t hold any ill will towards him.

“Honestly, it is what it is,” Lowry said in a statement to Real Mr. Housewife. “Obviously I was skeptical about him at first because of it, but I met him in person and he was very nice to me, and let’s face it. I’m sure there are people we do know, consider friends and are acquaintances with that talk crap about us too.”
