Oscars 2016 Dresses, Pants: Lady Gaga, Naomi Watts, Brie Larson And Rachel McAdams Rock The Red Carpet [Photos]

The dresses of the actresses that have walked the red carpet of the 88th Annual Academy Awards ceremony have gained as much buzz as the actresses themselves. Naomi Watts was one of the women who shimmered at the Hollywood & Highland Center on February 28, 2016. Unlike other years, this year it didn’t rain during the red carpet time in Hollywood, California.

Watts wore an Armani dress, as seen below. Slinky and colorful, the strapless gown Naomi donned is being called beautiful, along with her gorgeous bling. Social media users joked about Watts’ dress making her the “rainbow fish” of the Oscars.

Rachel McAdams went with a green gown that appeared sort of plain from the front, but showed off a backless and daring back when Rachel turned around and was coyly photographed from behind, as seen below. Some are dubbing McAdams one of the best dressed at the 2016 Oscars for wearing the August Getty Atelier emerald dress. A thigh-high — or rather, crotch-high slit in the front gave visual interest to the lower part of the gown.

Some of the biggest controversy involved a dress worn by Tracy Morgan, when he starred as a dress-wearing person in a parody of The Danish Girl. Whoopi Goldberg appeared as a maintenance person in parodies of The Martian and Joy.

Leslie Jones from SNL played the bear who went on a rampage in The Revenant.

Charlize Theron’s red dress won instant praise, with its deep and plunging neckline. The Christian Dior gown snagged plenty of talk about Theron being the hands-down winner of the fashion parade on Oscars night.

Kerry Washington went with a bold choice for her dress, with the top of the dress appearing to be a black leather sort of tank top or corset deal. The bottom of Kerry’s dress was white. The Versace gown had folks calling on Washington’s Scandal character, saying that Kerry channeled her inner gladiator to pull of the bold look.

Jennifer Garner’s black dress also won the actress lots of kudos. Jennifer recently spoke out about “nanny-gate” and the difficult “year of wine” Garner endured after her public break-up with Ben Affleck after 10 years of marriage.

Olivia Wilde truly wore a wild gown when she chose a Valentino Haute Couture gown that featured plenty of room for her skin to show. With a cleavage-baring design in the front and seemingly wings of sort in the back, the gown showed off Olivia’s fine form in a creative way that got it noticed.

Another white and backless dress that showed up on the red carpet was one worn by Giuliana Rancic, which displayed a long and deep amount of Rancic’s bare back.

The pretty yellow gown worn by Alicia Vikander allowed the actress to easily climb stairs, with the shorter cut in the front of the Louis Vuitton dress. It was fashion that also won plenty of compliments.

Last but not least, Robin Roberts’ long and slinky dress had folks complimenting the host and saying she looked as pretty as a statue.
