Renee Zellweger Seen Riding The London Subway, Latest ‘Bridget Jones’ Film Set For Fall Release

Renee Zellweger has been doing a good job at keeping a low profile these days while in London filming for the third installment of the Bridget Jones’ Diary franchise. However, recently, despite her best attempts, the actress was unable to negate the stares and snaps of iPhone cameras while she rode the London underground system.

As People shares, Zellweger was garbed in perfect tube-riding attire while attempting to blend in with the daily commuters.

“Renée Zellweger rode the tube earlier this week while in London, where she was seen in commuter-appropriate attire: comfortable shoes, a coat and a pair of headphones.”

Renee has just returned back to filming in the U.K. after she took a stateside holiday with her boyfriend. The 46-year-old star returned to London in January to continue on filming in her role for Bridget Jones’s Baby.

While in character, Zellweger has also been spotted in a number of different scenarios.

“Zellweger has been shooting the movie for several months in London, and has been previously spotted grooving out in character, at a mock music festival, and holding a British TV award.”

In regards to how the beloved character Bridget Jones will come across to viewers in this latest film of the franchise, Zellweger shares that fans and viewers can expect a different sort of Bridget, but can definitely also be prepared for the typical drama that the character seems to always find herself surrounded by. Renee spoke about the subject recently, as People shares.

“She’s a bit more mature and has moved on, as we all have.”

In regards to the character’s quirky personality and inability to steer clear of the drama, Renee also shares the following.

“I think that’s her essence, really. All of us do things in our personalities that we don’t outgrow.”

This third installment to the Bridget Jones franchise comes 12 years after the last film, and has been highly anticipated since talk began that there would be a third film. Despite the long gap between the second and third film, Zellweger has made it known that Jones is even more relevant today and believes the new film will be extremely well received, as she told Entertainment Weekly late last year.

“I like that she tells what it’s like to be a woman in these really relatable situations. It’s so right to tell a story about Bridget in this stage of her life.”

Producer for the film, Debra Hayward also shares how the film will show an evolved Bridget in a challenging yet exciting phase of her life.

“All of Bridget’s friends have moved on. They’ve all got children. It’s what we’ve all sort of gone through as women, isn’t it?”

As for the men in the film who are vying for Bridget’s affections, Daniel Cleaver, played by Hugh Grant, is well out of the picture, while Mark Darcy is still in the hunt for Jones’ affections.

However, the character, played by Colin Firth, is spurred on to work a little bit harder to solidify a relationship with Bridget, seeing as a new man named Jack, played by Patrick Dempsey, comes on the scene. Firth spoke about his character’s situation in the film.

“Mark didn’t think Daniel was better than him. This guy Jack seems to be more of the charming good guy, and in some ways that’s scarier.”

Dempsey shared about his excitement over taking on the role as the third member of this sure-to-be-entertaining love triangle.

“It’s completely reinvigorated me. I’ve enjoyed it immensely, getting back to something that has a beginning, middle and end. It’s just a completely different approach. With Grey’s, you’re just grinding it out. In this instance, you take the time to get through things.”

The film is set to hit theaters on September 16, and likely has been well worth the wait.
