Assassin’s Creed III To Get “Season Pass” DLC?

Considering all of the DLC we got for the past two Assassin’s Creed titles, it was pretty much expected that Assassin’s Creed III, the final entry in Desmond’s story arc, would have quite a bit of it.

Going by a leaked memo sent to GameStop employees, as found by Kotaku, it sounds like there’s enough Assassin’s Creed III DLC in the pipeline for Ubisoft to want to test the “Seeason Pass” waters–and at least some of said Assassin’s Creed III DLC will be episodic in nature.

The memo didn’t go into detail on what sort of Assassin’s Creed III DLC is in the works, so it could be entirely singleplayer, multiplayer, or a bit of both for all we know. Personally, I’m hoping that a good chunk of the DLC–perhaps the episodic portion–will be of the singleplayer variety, and not just a boatload of map packs.

We may not know any specifics about Assassin’s Creed III‘s DLC or the price of Ubisoft’s planned Season Pass, but we do know that Ubisoft appears to be pretty serious about cranking out what sounds like quite a lot of content, if the memo is anything to go by.

“We are currently in the process of creating a complementary development team that will begin working on post-launch episodic content to continue the Game of the Year experience that Assassin’s Creed 3 will undoubtedly deliver,” the memo reads.

“With a dedicated team specifically to this content we plan to set the bar for quality DLC in our industry.”
