Donald Trump: Is Lady Liberty His Next Trophy Wife?

Donald Trump seemingly has it all; gorgeous children, a beautiful wife, booming businesses, and more money than most of us will ever see in our lifetimes. What else could he possibly want? To become the next president of the United States, of course.

The more I watch Donald Trump and listen to him speak, the more I wonder why he would possibly want to be the president of the United States of America. He seems to approach the task as he would approach any business deal, but by delegating jobs he doesn’t understand or want to do using some type of pyramid scheme. The rest of the world is at the bottom of that pyramid while he sits on top. It’s frankly terrifying.

Trump vows he’s going to build a wall between the United States and Mexico, and Mexico will pay for it. According to Fusion, former Mexican President Vicente Fox said, “I’m not going to pay for that f***ing wall. He should pay for it.”

Donald’s response?

“The wall just got 10 feet taller.”

Fox urged Latinos in the United States to think twice before backing Trump and his ideas. “Please, you Hispanics, Latinos in the U.S., open your eyes. It’s not to defend our race. Not to defend our creed. It’s to defend this very same nation that is hosting you. This nation is going to fail if it goes into the hands of a crazy guy.”

It’s been said before, but it’s worth saying again. It seems like Donald Trump has no real knowledge of foreign policy, how to manage our healthcare system, or how the government actually conducts itself.

Last night, when Trump participated in the GOP debate, Trump fell embarrassingly short when pressed for details about his plan to repeal and replace Obamacare. Even Marco Rubio claimed Trump could only repeat small details when pressed for substance.

Donald Trump supporters are hopeful that he can say whatever he wants and do whatever he wants to get a job done right now. What they aren’t thinking about is that the president needs to cooperate with other leaders in our country and in the world. Pointing a finger and saying that this person or that country is going to do this or that because you said so isn’t how things work. If it were that easy, it would have been done by now.

While many voters may be sick of big government’s all-talk-and-no-action tendencies, surely they need a president who is looking for more than just another title or achievement to brag about.

It’s easy to suspect that Donald Trump is running for president just because he can. He brags that he’s done it all, he knows “the art of the deal,” and he’s winning all the time. Perhaps one more prize would be enough for Donald Trump. Is Lady Liberty his next trophy wife?

Sure, Donald Trump has a personal interest in some issues. They are, naturally, related to economics. We have heard about winning incessantly but not much about our environment. We’ve heard more about how well he is doing in the polls, which happens to be not exactly true, and not much about how he’ll unite people instead of driving them apart.

Donald Trump and supporters

Donald Trump seems to believe that he can shake a finger at some countries, and they will fall into order upon demand. Admittedly, I used to believe this about children until I had my own. I would not believe this about world leaders.

It’s easy to see that Donald Trump is saying what he thinks he needs to say to attract uneducated voters (remember, he loves “the poorly educated!”). People love Trump’s unfiltered rants and unapologetic way of straying from mainstream politics.

However, once he’s in office, I believe Donald Trump will ignore most of those who supported him and put him in his position of power. Donald Trump is known to support an issue and then backslide on it later, according to ATTN:. While supporters call his flip-flopping “evolving,” I call it a red flag.

Voters, beware. You just might get who you vote for.
