‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For Feb. 26, Xur Brings The Truth

The Truth has returned with Xûr’s latest visit to the Destiny Tower. PlayStation and Xbox players still seeking one of the best Rocket Launchers in the game should gather up their Strange Coins and check out the Agent of the Nine’s other wares.

Xûr can be found next to the Crucible Quartermaster in the Tower this weekend. Simply head straight toward the Vanguard hall after spawning in the tower and look against the wall on the left just before you run into the Quartermaster. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map.

The Truth

The Truth rocket launcher is a Void-based rocket launcher and simply one of the best weapons in Destiny. The community debates over its usefulness in PVE, but it is largely situational. It excels in PVP, where its aggressive tracking perk and large blast radius will take down your target and any of his buddies.

Ruin Wings

The ability to gain extra Heavy Weapon ammo drops is always welcome and the Destiny Year Two version of Ruin Wings continues the tradition with the “Seeds of Ruin” perk for Titans. This week’s edition also offers the choice between faster reloading for Hand Cannons and Rocket Launchers, as well as a choice between increased grenade throw distance and bonus grenade energy on melee hits.

The split stat of 46 Intellect and 45 Discipline may call for a re-roll using Glass Needles. This is slightly below average.

Mask of the Third Man

This is a Year Two upgrade for one of the favorite Exotic helmets employed by the Bladedancer Hunter sub-class in Destiny. The primary “Unstable Current” perk will give a couple of extra swings with the Arc Blade super ability, which is still useful in Crucible even if the sub-class has fallen out of favor.

The random perk roll has the coveted “Inverse Shadow” in the third column along with “Heavy Lifting.” That’s bonus super energy from killing minions and from killing minions with Heavy Weapons. The former perk eliminates the need for the latter.

The final column random perk is “Invigoration” for bonus melee energy from Orb pickup.

The 46 Intellect/47 Discipline split stat is solid enough for Destiny Bladedancers. The only reason to re-roll is to favor Strength over Discipline.

Light Beyond Nemesis

This helmet helped turn Warlocks into orb-generating machines in Destiny Year One. The Year Two versions continue producing extra orbs with the “Keeper of the Pack” perk, but not as many overall. It still excels in helping players revive teammates faster in PVP modes such as Elimination and Trials of Osiris.

The random optional perks include the choice between bonus Super energy from grenade kills or Heavy Weapon kills. Meanwhile, the “Innervation” perk gives bonus grenade energy on Orb pickups.

The 75 Intellect roll is excellent. Destiny Warlocks should pick this up if they don’t already have the Year Two version. Perks to target when using Glass Needles include “Inverse Shadow” and “Infusion.”
