‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ Season 2 News: Ash Gets An Old Flame Back, Premiere Date Set

Ash vs Evil Dead season 2 is gearing up to bring back all the nostalgia that horror fans over the years have come to love from the franchise. With new cast additions, several key elements are set to take shape in the next season, which also means some blasts from the past.

Warning: Possible spoilers ahead!

In season 2 of Ash vs Evil Dead, Ash Williams’ former high school sweetheart will be making her way to the small screen to have a little showdown of sorts with her former lover. There is probably good reason to believe that once she gets on board, Ash will have to slay her in some way because everyone that he loves, or once loved, has turned into Deadites.

His former flame has been cast as none other than TV regular Michelle Hurd, according to Deadline.

There certainly is plenty of room on Ash vs Evil Dead for a new leading lady in his life now that Amanda is dead and Ruby has turned out to be playing for the other team. That is not to say that Hurd will not flip at some point either. All of his ladies end up turning on him at one time or another.

According to the IMDb, Michelle Hurd is best known for her work in TV, which includes appearances on The Glades, Jessica Jones, Hawaii Five-O, How to Get Away With Murder, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. There is no doubt that she will fit right in on Ash vs Evil Dead in season 2.

But season 2 of Ash vs Evil Dead will not be complete without more of Ash Williams’ own family and his best friend from childhood. So that means his dad has been cast and will be played by the Six Million Dollar Man, Lee Majors. His best friend has also been cast and he will be portrayed by Ted Raimi, who is the brother of the franchise creator Sam Raimi.

So fans have to ask the main question here, and that is, what could possibly go wrong with a lethal mix-up like that? Former scorned girlfriends, an estranged father, and a formally forgotten best friend who just so happened to not be invited to the cabin in the woods way back in 1981.

The recipe for season 2 of Ash vs Evil Dead has been set and the plot is about to get blown out the door with all of the things that could happen this upcoming season, which will be premiering on premium cable network Starz on September 23, according to Den of Geek.

So let’s just take a moment to revisit where the characters of Ash vs Evil Dead last left off when we saw them on the season 1 finale.

One thing that is for certain is that Lucy Lawless’ Ruby is not to be trusted. Although all through the series there had been something off about her that made fans wonder if she was even on the good side to start with. There was an aura of mystery that surrounded her and it seemed as though she always had something to hide. So finding out that she was the author of the Necronomicon was not all that surprising.

But when Ash accepted her deal at the end of the last episode, it seemed as if those two had reached an understanding, at least for the time being. Ash, Kelly, and Pablo where on their way to sunny Florida and about to enjoy the good life while the world was on the verge of crumbling apart following their exit.

So in season 2 of Ash vs Evil Dead, they will likely follow that up with an immediate explanation of why he chose to make a deal with the devil. But there isn’t always a way to redeem Ash Williams, except for when he goes back into commando mode with his chainsaw and shotgun.
