Lea Michele And Matthew Paetz Split After 2 Years Of Dating: Inside Lea’s Heartbreak

Lea Michele and Matthew Paetz have split after almost two years of dating. It’s a complete shock to fans, given that the two were rumored to be engaged just weeks ago, but as it turns out, the couple decided to call it quits.

According to Us Weekly, a source confirmed to the magazine that Lea and Matthew have decided to go their own separate ways, but it wasn’t a mutual decision. The source went on to say that it was Matthew, and not Lea, who decided to say enough is enough.

Although they looked like they were in love just a few weeks ago, a source told the outlet, “He had enough.” Of Lea’s current state, the source went on to say, “She was completely crushed. She was completely blindsided.” For those hoping that the two can patch things up quickly, it’s said that he’s not taking Michele back.

So, what exactly happened between the two? What did he have “enough” of? At this point, it’s just speculation for now, but perhaps Paetz had enough of the scrutiny he received as soon as he started dating Lea Michele.

Recently, on the Fempire podcast, the Glee star opened up about how her fans attack her relationship because they still want her with her late boyfriend, Cory Monteith, who died of a drug overdose in 2013. The two had dated on and off for some time, and their characters were high school sweethearts on the popular hit FOX show.

“I love my fans. They’re incredible and they were really a part of my whole story and my whole journey with me, so I do come from a place of understanding, but it’s also really hard.”

Michele continued: “You know, every time I post a picture, then it’s just a landslide of comments that talk about my past and bring that up rather than projecting positivity.”

That said, it appeared as though Lea and Matthew were in a positive space as a couple, despite being scrutinized very early on in their relationship. Michele spoke out about how well Matt was taking it all, and how much he respects Cory [Monteith].

“We’ve stood by each other through anything that was thrown our way, and [Matt] is a such a great man that he would never really let anything like that ever crack our lovely little core that we’ve created. And, you know, he is also very respectful toward the person that I was with, and that, again, is something I love so much about him.”

The two met on the set of her music video “On My Way” back in June of 2014, and quietly started dating. Their relationship was later outed and Michele slowly but surely took the relationship public, but it seemed like the Scream Queens star was very careful with what she showed to the world, given that her relationship with Monteith, and his sudden death, was very public and put on display for all to see.

As stated, OK Magazine had reported weeks ago that the couple were engaged. It was originally reported that Michele broke down in tears as Paetz proposed to her and that she had spoken to Monteith’s family to go full steam ahead with Matt, but the Inquisitr via Gossip Cop had put that rumor to rest.

Fans immediately responded to Lea Michele’s news.
