Matt Lauer Sports Mike Tyson's Facial Tattoo On Jimmy Fallon Show

Matt Lauer showed up on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” sporting Mike Tyson’s signature facial tattoo and a request for the host–help cover the Olympics.

Lauer had a hard time explaining the tattoo to Fallon, but said it was a mix-up in booking the show, The Huffington Post reported.

“Can I just ask what is going on?” Fallon asked his fellow NBC host as soon as he sat down.

“I don’t want to talk about it,” Lauer responded. “Seriously. I feel like a tool.”

Lauer went on to explain how the mix-up came about:

So I’m on the phone with one of your producers today and we’re talking about the segment. And I’m on my car phone, you know bad connection. And at the end of the segment, I guess what he said was ‘Mike Tyson’s on tonight’ well I thought he said, ‘It’s Mike Tyson night tonight. So I immediately went downtown and got this.

So how is  Matt Lauer going to handle his coverage of the upcoming Olympics, Fallon asked.

“Six weeks, they got make-up. It’s alright.”

Matt Lauer also requested that Jimmy help with coverage of the London Olympics. Fallon will be in London, as will Lauer, and Matt invited Jimmy to be a guest on the show “every morning.” Jimmy politely turned him down, NBC News noted.

“Why not?” asked Matt, letting Jimmy know that the taping would actually take place during the evening because of the time difference with America.

“Because I’ll partying,” Jimmy answered.

Unfortunately, even though Tyson appeared later on the show, Matt Lauer was already gone and the two never crossed paths, E! News noted. They never got to compare tattoos.

    Since Matt Lauer was behind the removal of Ann Curry, I No longer care what he does, nor do I watch the TODAY SHOW, any longer!
