Paramore Singer Hayley Williams Marries Chad Gilbert
Love is in the air. Paramore singer Hayley Williams and New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert tied the knot yesterday according to E! News.
Williams, 27, and Gilbert, 34, were married at the Franklin Theater in Nashville, with several eyewitnesses and fans on hand to snap photos from the wedding ceremony and following reception.
The photos revealed that around 50 people witnessed the couple exchanging vows at the theater, as well as dancing, kissing, and looking like they were in love.
Williams wore a ballgown skirt with a short-sleeve fitted bodice before slipping into something more casual, according to People. She wore a simple white t-shirt with Gilbert’s name in red lettering. Gilbert, according to E! News, donned an all-black suit with a tartan Ben Sherman shirt.
Joyce Chen of US Weekly, described the couple’s wedding as “a match made in ska-punk heaven.”
Chen also reported that the ceremony was casual and that the reception was held at a Nashville bar and restaurant, opting to keep things simple. Another photo that was shared on social media, showed the couple cutting their “deconstructed” wedding cake, topped with two figure with the hands raised.

“It’s nice that after all this time, they’re still into each other,” said Carly Mallenbaum of USA Today, referring to Paramore’s 2013 single “Still Into You.”
Williams made headlines back in January when it was reported that she applied for a marriage license to Gilbert at the Williamson County Clerk’s Office in Tennessee, according to USA Today. Prior to this, the couple had been engaged for over a year and had been in a relationship for eight years. According to the Billboard, Williams shared the good news on her Twitter page, while Gilbert shared it on his Instagram account saying that he proposed to Williams on Christmas Day. Pop stars Katy Perry and Taylor Swift were some of the first people to congratulate the couple on social media.
“Now this is truly punk rock,” said Perry via Twitter.
“Congratulations you two on the happy news! Cheers to many more years of happiness,” said Mike Vulpo of E! News around the time of the engagement.
But things weren’t always peachy. Before they were married, Hayley Williams shared the struggles of their relationship, specifically being apart while touring with their respective bands, according to Youth Health.
“That’s our life. We always, always tour,” said Williams. “But honestly it’s great. We both love what we do and we both support each other and love that we’re doing the thing that we enjoy.”
Chad Gilbert revealed in a September 2015 interview with Fuse TV, that making music for New Found Glory’s eight studio album Resurrection helped to strengthen their relationship.
“Personally, Hayley and I, we’d been dating for six years, and we hit a rough patch in our relationship, and it was great, being able to get that out in these songs,” said Gilbert. “It made things better for us, you know what I’m saying? There was so much going on at this time that you can dig deep into the record.”
More good things are coming to Hayley Williams. According to NME, Paramore are set to be working on their next album. Earlier this month, Williams shared with her Twitter followers that the album is currently being written. It will be the band’s fifth studio album.
The band’s live drummer Aaron Gillespie had nothing but good things to say about the band, but denied that he was performing on the new album.
“They’re amazing people,” said Gillespie. “It’s an honour to get to play with them. It’s something that’s super challenging because of their stature, and because you want to be great for something like that”.
