Drake’s ‘Views From The 6’ To Drop April 16? Rapper Hints At Release Date On Instagram

Drake may be keeping fans eagerly awaiting news of an official release date for his Views From the 6 album, but it seems that the rapper may be dropping some hints about his forthcoming album on Instagram.

Last month, Drake confirmed a tentative April release date for his fourth studio album during a new episode of OVO Sound Radio on January 30, albeit neglecting to confirm an official drop date for the project.

During his hosting segment, Drake also opened up about the significance of an April release date for Views From the 6 by revealing to fans that an April 16 drop date for the album is a nod to the (416) area code of his hometown of Toronto.

In addition to debuting Views’ lead single, “Summer Sixteen,” and confirming a tentative release for VFT6 during his OVO hosting gig, Drake further promised fans that he would be unveiling the cover art, tracklist, and official release date for his impending album at a later date. However, he has yet to address the speculation surrounding the project’s release.

Now, it appears that Drake has begun to drop hints about Views From the 6’s arrival after the rapper seemingly responded to a rumor regarding the album’s release on Instagram.

On Wednesday, one fan was able to capture a screengrab of Drake “liking” an Instagram post that alleges, “‘Views From The 6’ will drop 4/16/2016,” while noting that “416 is also the area code of Toronto.”

The news comes just one week after Drake began promoting Views From the 6 in his native Toronto ahead of the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game last week, taking to Instagram to share a photo of a new billboard that had been erected in honor of the album’s upcoming release.

While Drake may have liked an Instagram post alleging an April 16 release for his new album, some fans speculate that the project will drop sometime in early April after another cryptic advertisement for the album emerged in a Toronto airport earlier this month.

In the ad, the message “Four Plus Two Equals 6” can be seen written in the same typeface as Drake’s “VIEWS” billboard, leading some fans to speculate that the “four plus two” message teases an April 2 release for VFT6.

While there’s no official word from Drake or his OVO team regarding Views’ release, new rumors recently emerged suggesting that the “Jumpman” rapper is teaming up with Metro Boomin for his new record, the Urban Daily reports.

On February 16, Drake took to Twitter to drop a not-so-subtle hint that the Atlanta producer may appear on his upcoming album, revealing, “And on the off chance that Metro Boomin doesn’t trust you…well…”

With Metro having served as a producer for Drake and Future’s collaborative mixtape, What a Time to Be Alive, it’s not surprising that Drake would team up with Metro Boomin once again to help produce his upcoming album, Complex reports.

While there’s currently little information regarding what to expect from Drake’s new album, it seems that the rapper is only just getting started when it comes to dropping hints about his album’s impending release.
