WWE News: This Week’s ‘WWE NXT’ & ‘Thursday Night SmackDown’ Spoilers

Note: The following contains spoilers for WWE NXT airing on February 17 and WWE Thursday Night SmackDown airing on February 18.

Two days ago on Monday Night Raw, after their recent heel turn and denouncement of tables, the Dudley Boys unexpectedly attacked Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, setting up the WWE SmackDown main event. Brock Lesnar returns to SmackDown for the first time in over a decade to confront his WWE Fastlane opponents before one of them moves on to WrestleMania 32 to face Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

On WWE NXT, Samoa Joe and Sami Zayn battle to determine a No. 1 contender for Finn Balor’s NXT Championship while the tag team division heats up with an Eight-Man Tag Team Match.

WWE Thursday Night SmackDown spoilers

This episode was taped in Ontario, California, on February 16.

  • Commentary for this episode of SmackDown is provided by Byron Saxton, Michael Cole, and Jerry Lawler.

  • The League of Nations defeated The Lucha Dragons and Dolph Ziggler in a Six-Man Tag Team Match. Kevin Owens was providing guest commentary and helped the heels with a distraction.
  • Sasha Banks defeated Tamina when Snuka tapped out to the Bank Statement. Becky Lynch made the save when Naomi and Tamina attacked Sasha post-match.
  • Chris Jericho defeated The Miz by submission when Miz tapped out to the Walls of Jericho. A.J. Styles makes an appearance and their match at WWE Fastlane is made official.
  • Charlotte defeated Natalya when Nattie tapped out to the Figure Eight. Post-match, Brie Bella makes an appearance and fights with the WWE Divas Champion.

  • Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns defeated The Dudley Boys when Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman interfered and caused a disqualification. After Lesnar first attacked, Reigns accidentally speared Ambrose. Ambrose attempts to hit Reigns with the Dirty Deeds but Reigns avoids it. Lesnar is the last man standing, and the episode ends with a stare-down between The Beast Incarnate and current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H.

WWE NXT spoilers

This episode was taped at the University of Central Florida on January 29 as part of the Royal Rumble weekend.

  • Enzo Amore, Colin Cassady, Jason Jordan and Chad Gable defeated Dash, Dawson, Blake and Murphy when Enzo and Cass hit their finisher.

  • Asuka defeated Deonna Purrazzo in the only women’s match of the episode.
  • Tye Dillinger defeated Alex Riley, who is getting another chance in NXT.

  • Sami Zayn vs. Samoa Joe ended in a draw with a double-pin, failing yet again to determine the No. 1 contender for the NXT Championship.
