Fred Willard Arrested For Lewd Behavior At Tiki Theater

Fred Willard, of “Anchorman” fame was arrested at a Hollywood “adult” movie theater last night for lewd behavior. According to TMZ, Willard, 72, was caught with his pants down inside Hollywood’s Tiki Theater by an undercover Los Angeles police officer.

When the LAPD officer encountered Fred Willard, he was sitting in a movie theater seat with his penis in his hand. The “American Wedding” actor was arrested at approximately 8:45 p.m. booked for lewd conduct and released a short time later. Fox News reports the Fred Willard was enjoying showings of a XXX parody of “The Client List,” “Step Dad 2,” and “Follow Me 2” before police officers discovered him with his penis exposed.

Willard has also appeared in “Best in Show,” “For Your Consideration,” “This is Spinal Tap” “Fernwood Tonight,” “Epic Movie,” “The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” and on episodes of “Everybody Loves Raymond.” IMBD reports Fred Willard is “rumored” to be working in the pre-production stage of a new movie entitled, “The Yank” – a comedy. The Philadelphia Inquirer notes the accomplished comedic actor has made a successful career of “portraying dim-witted” characters. Willard is also the voice of the character “Ed Warmer” in the “Hot Brain” PlayStation game.

The Fred Willard incident is drawing natural comparisons to a similar incident in 1991 when Paul Reubens, A.K.A. Pee-Wee Herman was arrested in an adult movie theater in Florida for indecent exposure.

Willard is a Cleveland, Ohio native and served in the military before turning to acting. Fred Willard graduated from both the Kentucky Military Institute and the Virginia Military Institute. More recently Willard hosted the Nickelodeon Fido Awards in 2008 and was honored as “Pioneer in Comedy” at the Burbank Film Festival.

Fred Willard’s publicist said the actor had “no comment” about the arrest for lewd behavior, according to the Los Angeles Times.
