Selena Gomez made jaws drop when she hit the Grammy red carpet in a sequin blue Calvin Klein gown. Selena, who attended the Grammys on the arm of bestie Taylor Swift, revealed to E! News‘s Ryan Seacrest on the Grammy red carpet that she chose the gown, which carefully selected cut outs on the torso, because it was something she’d “wear on a date.”

Not only did Ariana’s Grammy gown certainly looked stunning, it turns out her fashion is also pretty practical. Grande joked to press before heading into the Grammy ceremony that she actually checked how many stairs she’d have to climb to get to the stage to make sure she wasn’t on the receiving end of a Grammy wardrobe malfunction.
