Joey Feek & Rory Feek Dream Of Grammy Win & Baby’s Birthday Amid Cancer: Overstock Honors With CD Giveaway

Country music duo Joey Feek, who is battling terminal cancer, and her husband, Rory Feek, have a big week ahead. After spending what may be their last Valentine’s Day together, Joey and Feek will watch from home when the Grammy Awards are aired.

The couple received a nomination, but with the country music star too frail to travel, they’ll be watching from home, with his daughters from a previous marriage and manager attending in their place. That exciting event will be followed by a day that Joey wasn’t even sure she would survive long enough to see, which is the birthday party of their 2-year-old daughter, Indiana, on Wednesday, reported the Daily Mail.

The Feek family have something else to celebrate as well, having just released a new album, Hymns That Are Important to Us.

The Grammy Awards nomination came for “If I Needed You,” and their song earned recognition in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category. If Joey and Feek win, his daughters Hopie and Heidi, along with their manager Aaron Carnahan, will read the words penned by the couple together.

As the Inquisitr reported, Blake Shelton is among those who hope that the Feek duo wins.

“I can’t imagine our names being called,” said Rory modestly. “But then again, Joey and I also couldn’t have imagined us being where we are at all… the good parts or the bad. So I will write something. And when she’s awake, I will run what I’ve written by Joey like I do all these blog posts. And she will say ‘it’s beautiful honey,’, and then gently point out…if I’ve left off something important.”

Feek made it clear just how much pride he has in his wife.

“I might have the words that bring characters to life. But my wife has the character that brings my words to life,” added Rory.

While Valentine’s Day, the album release, and the Grammy Award event are all important, the single date that Joey has sought to experience since learning she had six months to live last fall comes on Wednesday. To celebrate their little girl Indiana’s second birthday, Feek will arrange the room so that Joey can participate from her hospice bed.

“Our plan is to put streamers up around Joey’s bed and move Indiana’s high-chair in beside her, so Joey can be part of it. So she can watch our little-one eat her cupcake and rip the wrapping paper off her gifts,” planned Rory. “But Joey is very fragile right now, and so with all of these plans we have, we will need to adjust for what my wife needs.”

Initially diagnosed with cancer in June 2014, the 40-year-old singer was told that she only had six months to live in October. It was predicted that she would live out her life in a hospice bed. But in December, Joey defied those predictions by walking.

Now her condition has worsened again. Rory has learned that although he can plan, the ultimate scenario is not in their hands. On his blog This Life I Live, he has reflected on the love that they have shared, their heartbreak, and their faith.

“Our music has taken us many incredible places and let us experience some amazing things in the past 8 years and people we meet have often asked if we had a plan to get to where we are. I’ve always answered, ‘yes, there’s a master plan… it’s just not ours.’ And so now, with the big week we have coming up, we have a little plan. But ultimately, how the plan plays out is up to God.”

Turning to Instagram, Feek shared a sweet kiss between Indiana and her mama.

“Happy Valentine’s Day mama,” he wrote.

Fans of the Feek family have been given a way to share their well wishes, prayers, and love by Overstock, which created a virtual card. Overstock VP Ginger Bower told the Inquisitr what the card meant to the couple in an exclusive interview.

“They are very touched by the outpouring of support they’ve seen. Joey and Rory have such a beautiful, inspirational love story that we wanted to not only share it, but to reciprocate with a tribute to them,” revealed Ginger.

As the Inquisitr reported, in addition to the virtual card, Overstock gave away 1,000 copies of the new Hymns album from Joey and Rory. Now, as part of that tribute, Overstock is having an encore sweepstakes.

“The Joey + Rory Gift of Music Encore” ends 2/15/2016 (midnight ET). Those who want to participate can enter on Overstock. Five hundred winners will be randomly selected per the terms described on Overstock.
