Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner Take Valentine’s Weekend Trip With Kids

Actors Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner continue to keep a happy front for the sake of their kids. The divorcing couple took their family out of their Los Angeles residence, and reportedly flew to Montana for the holiday weekend.

Affleck and Garner are still going forward with their divorce, but continue to do things together with their kids, including taking major holiday trips. A source told US Weekly that the family decided to take a vacation at a ski resort in Montana during the kids’ winter break. Valentine’s Day is on Sunday, but sources claim that there is no romance or reconciliation happening between the former couple.

“Ben and Jen are together only for the kids, not romantically.”

Affleck and Garner have been trying to keep a united front ever since they announced their marital split last July, after 10 years of marriage. While the couple kept quiet on the official reason for their divorce, sources claimed that Garner grew tired of Affleck’s gambling habit and his busy work schedule. Things didn’t bode well for Affleck when news leaked out that the family’s former nanny, Christina Ouzounian, had an affair with him.

While people expected the couple’s split go from amicable to messy, Affleck and Garner continued doing family activities with their three kids, such as shopping at their local farmer’s market, adopting a puppy, and taking vacations together. The couple’s children include daughters Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and son Samuel, 3.

This Valentine’s weekend holiday isn’t the first time the family has vacationed in Montana. Affleck, Garner and their kids spent time at the exclusive Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana over the Christmas holidays. Their return to Big Sky isn’t solely a family retreat; sources mentioned that the couple invited family friends to join in with the winter festivities.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner will both return to a busy schedule after their family vacation. Affleck’s highly anticipated film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released on March 16. Affleck stars as Bruce Wayne/Batman opposite Henry Cavil’s Clark Kent/Superman. The final official trailer for the superhero flick was released on February 11.

Affleck is set to reprise his Batman role in two other Justice League films, set for 2017 and 2019 releases. The 43-year-old actor also signed on to direct, co-write, and star in a standalone Batman film.

Affleck has two non-superhero film in the works. Affleck is the director and star of the upcoming Live by Night, based on the crime fiction novel of the same name by Dennis Lehane. Affleck made his directorial debut in 2007 with another of Lehane’s novel, Gone Baby Gone. Live by Night originally had an October 17 release date, but Warner Bros. Pictures decided that they will release the movie sometime in 2017, as reported in Variety.

Ben Affleck’s other film, The Accountant, was supposed to be released at the end of January, but Warner Bros. moved the release date to October 7. Affleck plays the lead role of an accountant who is also an assassin.

Jennifer Garner will be presenting an award at the 2016’s Academy Awards on February 28. The 43-year-old actress also has four movies set to open this year, including the family comedy Nine Lives that stars Kevin Spacey and Christopher Walken. The Barry Sonnenfield-directed film had an April 29 release date, but the production company, EuropaCorp, moved the film’s opening to August 5.

Garner will star as Christy Beam in Miracles from Heaven, with Queen Latifah and New Zealand actor Martin Henderson. The Christian film is based on author Christy Beam’s memoir about how her daughter experienced a near-death experience, and wounded up being cured from a digestive disorder. Miracles from Heaven has a March 16 release date.
