Trenton, New Jersey Mayor Tony Mack had his home raided this morning by several FBI agents. The FBI confiscated two boxes filled with various items from the N.J. Mayor’s home. Mack denied any wrongdoing.

Mack said:

“We have not violated the public trust nor have I violated any of my public duties and that’s all I have to say on the matter.”

NJ.com reports that Mack’s home was raided by as may as 10 FBI agents at about 6:15 this morning. The FBI alerted Trenton police shortly before the raid began.

Barbara Woodruff, a spokeswoman for the FBI, said that a search warrant was executed at the New Jersey home. Woodruff did not say why Mack’s home was raided or if any criminal charges would be filed.

Tony Mack’s time as Mayor hasn’t been in a constant state of turmoil.

According to CBS, several of his business administrators have left their jobs due to illegal activities. One resigned saying Mack “didn’t believe in good government.” Another was forced out after being found guilty of embezzlement. Another was convicted of theft, and his chief of staff was arrested buying heroin.

Mack’s half-brother, Stanley Davis, was also arrested after using the water works department to perform private jobs with city equipment. Oh, he also billed the city for his projects.

Trenton Councilman George Muschal, who once supported Mack, said:

“When the feds come after you, they come after you for a good reason…. He’s the commander-in- chief, he’s leading the ship and I don’t know where it’s going. The man does what he wants… It won’t stop until someone takes him out in handcuffs or he’s removed by recall.”
