Selena Gomez Supports BFF Taylor Swift After Kanye West Diss, Ignores Former Boyfriend Justin Bieber’s ‘GQ’ Interview?

Selena Gomez’ longtime friend, Taylor Swift, was the target of a number of hateful comments made by Kanye West earlier this week in a diss track.

During Kim Kardashian’s husband’s Yeezy Season 3 fashion show, the rapper, a father of two, announced his new album, The Life Of Pablo, which includes the song “Famous,” in which he claimed to have made Swift, aka “that b***h,” “famous,” and said they might sleep together. In response, a number of celebrities spoke out in support of Swift, including Selena Gomez.

According to a February 11 report by Hollywood Life, Swift’s brother, Austin, shot a video on Instagram as he tossed his Yeezy tennis shoes into the trash, and a short time later, Selena Gomez showed she was Team Swift by liking Austin’s clip.

In addition to Selena Gomez’s social media support, other celebrities, including Jamie King and Gigi Hadid, who was actually present during West’s show, shared tweets about West’s dig at the singer.

“I’m so sad right now & disappointed right now. I stand by my sister. Always,” King tweeted.

“My attendance somewhere does not mean I agree with everything being said in the music playing there. My friends know of my loyalty,” added Hadid.

Orange Is The New Black actress Ruby Rose also sent out a tweet to her fans, which stated, “Too many lines crossed. If I put myself in the shoes of the women he has hurt recently. Victims of Bill Cosby, The S**t shaming, Amber, and now my dear friend Taylor.. Right before another huge moment for her.. Can I still support him and call myself a feminist? A friend? No.”

Although Selena Gomez’s “like” was far less elaborate than some, she’s been friends with Swift for years, so there’s no question on where she stands on the issue.

In other Selena Gomez news, the singer’s ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, has been making waves with a new interview with GQ in which he talks about both Selena Gomez and his current flame, Hailey Baldwin. However, rather than respond to the interview, a source claimed to Hollywood Life that Selena Gomez was simply happy to see that Bieber was taking things more seriously with Baldwin, and hopefully leaving all the buzz about “Jelena” behind.

Selena Gomez is “hoping this will finally get people to stop trying to get them back together.”

That said, she’s reportedly not buying Bieber’s marriage talk one bit, as he used to use that line on her years ago when they were dating to make up for his mistakes.

“[Selena Gomez] thinks it’s pretty embarrassing that he’s talking about how he might marry Hailey one day because it’s the same game he used to play with her,” the source explained. “He always used to tell her that he was going to marry her, it was like this prize he dangled over her head to keep her around no matter how much crap he pulled. Now he’s doing the same thing with Hailey.”

While Selena Gomez and Bieber’s relationship may be well over, the former couple will soon reunite. As Teen Vogue revealed earlier this week, Selena Gomez is scheduled to appear in court with her ex-boyfriend in regard to a case against him. In the case, it was alleged Bieber assaulted a photographer who came too close to him and Selena Gomez years ago.
