Taylor Swift Fires Back At Kanye West Over Misogynistic Lyrics While He’s Unapologetically Telling A Different Story

Taylor Swift and Kanye West haven’t had the best professional relationship, and just when it seems like the drama is over, Kanye strikes back — again. Apparently, Kanye West has fired verbal shots at Taylor in a new track.

According to USA Today, the drama began when Kanye performed the track “Famous” at the Yeezy Season 3 fashion show at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, Feb. 11. Fans were quite receptive to the song until Kanye West reached a line that quickly turned heads.

“I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. / Why? I made that (expletive) famous.”

According to Fox News, Taylor Swift isn’t too fond of the song and she’s reportedly quite “bothered” by Kanye’s statement. Since this isn’t the first time the “Shake It Off” singer has been at odds with the “Can’t Tell Me Nothin'” rapper, his words may not come as a surprise to her. But nevertheless, Taylor Swift isn’t pleased with his misogynistic lyrics.

This time, she’s firing back at the Yeezus rapper with a response to the song. Taylor Swift’s representative has released a statement detailing her reaction to the song. “Kanye did not call for approval,” Taylor Swift’s rep told the press, “but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.'”

Although Taylor Swift’s representative insists she never approved of the misogynistic message because she’d never heard the actual lyric prior to the song being released, Kanye West is telling a different side to the story. Due to the overwhelming backlash he has received because of the song, he’s opted to address the situation and respond to Taylor Swift’s disapproval of the track.

Earlier today, Kanye took to Twitter with a statement to fans about Taylor Swift. Kanye is actually arguing that Taylor Swift approved of the lyric during a lengthy phone conversation they had months prior to the track being released.

The controversial rapper took time to break down the meaning of his message and even attempted to flip the perspective of the derogatory word he used to describe Taylor Swift by comparing the word b**ch to the word n***a. Kanye insists the two words, which are commonly used in rap lyrics, are nothing more than “terms of endearment.”

In fact, he even went a step further by revealing he’d asked his wife, Kim Kardashian, for approval of the lyric and she reportedly agreed with his sentiments of the term and supported his decision to release the track. However, that’s not all. Kanye also argues Taylor Swift actually came up with the concept and admitted that he made her famous. And as expected, Kanye offered no apology for his words and adamantly refuses to censor his words regardless of whom he offends.

After addressing the situation with Taylor Swift, Kanye went on to rant about hip-hop culture and society. He argues that society constantly tries to silence rappers and place boundaries on hip hop culture. But, regardless of Kanye’s arguments, fans aren’t pleased with the level of disrespect toward Taylor Swift.
