Even Renée Zellweger Doesn’t Know Who The Father Of ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’ Is!
Renée Zellweger is once again filming a Bridget Jones movie, 14 years after the first movie of the franchise was released in theaters.
Choosing to take a long break from work in 2010, the actress was completely out of the spotlight and taking care of herself. When she re-entered the Hollywood scene in the fall of 2014, she looked different and told People that she was happy people took notice.
“I’m glad folks think I look different! I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows.”
Renée Zellweger had essentially burnt herself out with her previous filming schedule, taking no time to really take care of herself.
“My friends say that I look peaceful. I am healthy. For a long time I wasn’t doing such a good job with that. I took on a schedule that is not realistically sustainable and didn’t allow for taking care of myself. Rather than stopping to recalibrate, I kept running until I was depleted and made bad choices about how to conceal the exhaustion. I was aware of the chaos and finally chose different things.”

Recently, Renée Zellweger spoke with Entertainment Weekly about her time away and she said that she really didn’t pay attention to all the media and talk surrounding her return.
“All that I know about is what friends and associates would send in texts and emails. They were sending support, which means that I must have needed it, and I prefer it that way. So when people come up to me to ask ‘How did that feel?’ I don’t know, and I like it like that. I don’t know. I know it sounds pretty unlikely that a person might be able to make herself, I guess, keep clear of those words or of that experience, but I have and it takes effort. But I have succeeded.”
Now, Renée Zellweger is in full swing on the set of Bridget Jones’s Baby and apparently loving it.

People reports that Zellweger has been seen on the set of the movie looking happy and relaxed. They were filming a recreation of the British Summer Music festival at Glastonbury fields. Daily Mail reports that Renée Zellweger has also been seen out and about in London outside of filming, looking casual on a day off.
Renée Zellweger also revealed to People last fall that her character, Bridget Jones, has grown up a lot over the years, but is still prone to her “hapless hijinks.”
“She’s a bit more mature and has moved on, as we all have. I think [chaos is] her essence, really. All of us do things in our personalities that we don’t outgrow.”
There has been no trailer released for the hotly anticipated sequel, but last fall Stanley Kubrick put on YouTube a series of stills from the filming that show Zellweger in costume and with a pregnant belly.
As for the movie itself, Vanity Fair reports that spoilers will be kept to a minimum, or even non-existent, as Renée Zellweger and the rest of the cast have been kept completely in the dark about who the father of Jones’ baby is and which man she will ultimately choose. Zellweger says it’s brilliant, the way they have set it up.
“It’s kind of brilliant. None of the cast knows who fathered Bridget’s baby or who she’ll choose as her beau. The plan is to keep us all in the dark, right up to the premiere.”
How exciting! Bridget Jones’s Baby is due out this September and fans can’t wait to see Renée Zellweger take on her iconic role once more.
