‘Batman V Superman’ Movie May Disappoint Fans Despite Epic New Trailer

Ever since Warner Bros. Pictures announced Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, DC Comics fans have been patiently waiting for it to hit cinemas. On Thursday, more than a month before the premiere of the film, the final trailer of the action film was released.

The latest trailer of Batman V Superman was anything but boring. For the first time, the filmmakers decided to include more action scenes, especially the ones that feature the two superheroes going at each other.

The trailer begins with Batman (Ben Affleck) kicking, throwing, and punching the usual armed thugs in an abandoned building. After taking down two-dozen armed men, Bruce Wayne then tells his butler Alfred that he has slowed down because of his age.

Another portion of the film shows the threat that Batman feels with Superman (Henry Cavill) around. He says that an individual who can wipe out the entire human race should be 100 percent on humanity’s side.

The video then transitions to the initial scenes before the duel between the two iconic superheroes. The trailer shows Batman trying to run over Superman with his Batmobile, but to no avail.

The trailer also showcases Superwoman (Gal Gadot), both in her human and superhero personas.

There are lots of explosions in the trailer, and these are highlighted even more with the help of a high-octane musical score.

However, it is the final scene of the trailer that definitely raised intriguing questions, especially for those who did not read the comics. Superman is seen attempting to punch Batman, but the Caped Crusader manages to successfully block the powerful man od Steel with just one arm.

It seems that Warner Bros. has definitely laid out all of their cards in the final trailer before the film’s release next month. It not only shows how desperate the Hollywood studio is to make the DC superhero franchise work, but also how patient it has been in recent months in executing this project.

Batman V Superman was originally due for release on July 17 of last year, but the studio decided to move the date to almost a year later.

At the time, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara said that delaying the release of the superhero flick would “create a hole in 2015.” However, he did stress that he already watched the film “multiple times,” which meant that the film was already completed.

“I’m extremely confident it was the right decision to make the movie better. And it’s so important for the studio to get the foundation right on DC,” Tsujihara added.

The previous superhero films helmed by Warner Bros. included Green Lantern, which starred Ryan Reynolds, and Man of Steel, which can be considered the prequel to Dawn of Justice.

Both films did not do as well as may have been expected, and for this upcoming movie, they definitely wouldn’t settle for anything less than a worldwide box office hit and a critically acclaimed film.

But what if Batman V Superman does fail?

Argo actor Ben Affleck definitely knows the consequences of being part of the anchor of an entire film franchise.

“I think there is a ton of pressure on it. I mean I would be bullshitting you to say there isn’t… If it doesn’t do well, that will be extremely disappointing,” Affleck said.

It is worth noting that even though the filmmakers, actors, and even fans of the film are pretty excited and confident that Dawn of Justice will do great in theaters, Warner Bros. decided to change the release date of the film from May 6 to March 25.

One of the alleged reasons for the change is that it would have become a head-to-head match with the Avengers: Civil War, and it seems like the Hollywood studio is not confident enough that Batman v Superman would win that contest.
