Kevin Skinner: an American Susan Boyle?

A redneck country boy contestant named Kevin Skinner stole the show on last night America’s Got Talent.

Drawing immediate comparisons to Susan Boyle, the former “chicken ketcher” who “ain’t real good at math” stopped Sharon Osbourne’s cackling dead in its tracks with his soulful cover of a Garth Brooks song. Skinner, 35, described his country life and propensity for taking his truck “muddin’” before he wowed the crowd with the performance below.

    I though at first that that Garth Brooks was on America’s got talent then I looked over at the T.V. to see who was singing and WOW that was amazing I played Garth Brook and Kevin Skinner songs back to back and there was maybe 30% difference and Garth Brooks had a recording studio. I don’t think that it will even matter if Kevin wins this witch he will but either way before he can blink he’ll have a record deal and be sitting at the CMT awards, no drought about that.

    Garth needs to pay you for singing his song the way you did, my hart like skipped a beet when I herd him sing.

    I personal think Kevin Skinner will be our next superstar in country music i love his singing and I think he is sexy as well :)
