‘Teen Mom 2’ Season 7 Premiere Date Announced: Leah Messer, Jenelle Evans, Chelsea Houska & Kailyn Lowry Return

Teen Mom 2 Season 7 is premiering next month on MTV, and already, there’s drama! On February 11, following The Ashley’s Reality Roundup‘s announcement of the series’ return, Kailyn Lowry took to Twitter, where she seemingly slammed MTV for not telling her of the premiere date prior to the public reveal.

While Lowry was clearly expecting an advance notice, her Teen Mom 2 co-star Jenelle Evans shared a more positive message with fans on Twitter, which read, “I’m excited for this upcoming season! Everyone can see how happy I am! So happy to be able to smile everyday.”

As for Chelsea Houska and Leah Messer, they’ve stayed silent in regard to the upcoming Teen Mom 2 premiere thus far.

When the new season of Teen Mom 2 returns, fans will be reunited with the four women, and discover how much their lives have changed since filming wrapped early last year on Teen Mom 2 Season 6. According to The Ashley, filming began on Teen Mom 2 in October 2015, which could be a hint that the custody battle between Messer and Corey Simms will be featured.

As fans have likely heard, Simms was awarded primary custody of his twin girls, Ali and Aleeah, 6, after filing for full custody of the children one year prior. At the time, Simms was left in charge of weekly duties with the kids, while ex-wife Messer was left with just weekends. However, during a second hearing last month, Messer regained joint custody of the girls, and is now splitting the week with Simms.

While it has yet to be determined whether or not Messer’s on-again, off-again boyfriend, T.R. Dues, will be seen on Teen Mom 2, fans will be meeting David Eason, the new boyfriend of Jenelle Evans. After splitting from Nathan Griffith last summer, Evans moved on with Eason, and in the months since their relationship began, they’ve gone on a number of vacations together, including a trip to St. Thomas last year.

In addition to Messer’s custody struggles, fans will also see several happy moments on Teen Mom 2, including Houska’s engagement to Cole Deboer, whom fans met during Teen Mom 2 Season 6. Although it hasn’t been confirmed that the engagement will be seen, the event happened during filming, and even if it doesn’t, fans will surely hear about it when the show returns. Unfortunately, however, fans will not be seeing the couple’s wedding on Teen Mom 2.

“Chelsea wants her wedding to be very private and low-key,” one of The Ashley‘s show sources revealed last month. “MTV is begging her to let them film it but Chelsea refuses. She usually stands firm on stuff like this, so it’s unlikely that she’ll change her mind. Besides, Cole has never really been comfortable doing things on-camera.”

As Houska and DeBoer head to the altar, her co-star and friend, Lowry, prepares to say goodbye to husband, Javi Marroquin, who left the country last month to tend to his military duties. Although Lowry appears to be handing her parenting responsibilities just fine thus far, she’s sure to face challenges as the Teen Mom 2 season continues.

In addition to the women of the show, their ex-boyfriends and ex-husbands, including Adam Lind, Griffith, Jo Rivera, Simms, and Jeremy Calvert, are also expected to appear, as are their current girlfriends and wives.

Don’t miss Teen Mom 2 Season 7, when it premieres on MTV on March 21 at 10 p.m.
