‘Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ Is Going To Make A Huge Amount At The Box Office

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice will open in North America, Japan, and China on March 25, respectively, which has led to predictions that it will haul in much more than had originally been predicted.

North America, Japan, and China are the three largest film markets in the world. That’s why news that it has secured a March 25 release in China, which was confirmed by the Hollywood Reporter over the weekend, should undoubtedly see its box office haul rise exponentially.

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice won’t just open in Japan, China, and North America though, as it will be released across numerous international territories on this date too.

The release of Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice on March 25 is seen as a huge step in increasing the blockbuster’s haul. That’s because over the last 12 months, the China’s box office has grown by 48 percent. In fact, it’s even set to surpass North America as the biggest box office market in the world over the next year.

Warner Bros.’ decision to release Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice in Japan and China simultaneously with North America will stop pirate copies from being created and then circulated across the world wide web, which ultimately damages its box office return.

2013’s Man Of Steel fared rather well in China, where it grossed $63.4 million of its $668 million total. However, this was before American studios started to take advantage of the Chinese market. As a result, over the last 12 months, Furious 7, Avengers: Age Of Ultron, and Jurassic World were able to score opening weekend box office hauls of $182 million, $155 million, and $99 million respectively.

Warner Bros.’ decision to release Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice at the same time in America as they are in China and Japan comes after Star Wars: The Force Awakens only grossed $52.3 million over its opening weekend.

The Force Awakens, which was released in the United States on December 18, 2015, was then released three weeks later in China on January 9, 2016. Despite its huge marketing campaign in the territory, Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ failure in China was mostly blamed on this delay, which allowed pirated copies to emerge.

Because of this, Star Wars: The Force Awakens was unable to surpass the $2.7 billion total of Avatar, which is the highest-grossing film of all time. In fact, it’s looking increasingly unlikely that it will even pass Titanic‘s $2.1 billion total, and it will instead have to settle for being the third-highest-grossing film of all time.

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice is the sequel to Man Of Steel and the second installment in the DC Extended Universe. Dawn Of Justice will ultimately be followed by Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg, Green Lantern Corps, Justice League Part One and Part 2, Shazam, and Aquaman. A new Batman trilogy, starring Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Gotham’s famous vigilante, as well as future Man Of Steel sequels are expected too.

Starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, who portrayed Superman in Man Of Steel, Batman travels from Gotham to Metropolis to start a fight with Superman, blaming the alien’s activities against General Zod, and the subsequent damage to Earth, for his actions. However, Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor drives an even bigger wedge between the duo, using the the body of General Zod to create an even bigger threat in the shape of Doomsday.

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice will be released on March 25, 2016.
