Taylor Swift To Open Grammys, Plus, Her Valentine’s Day Plans With Calvin Harris

Taylor Swift isn’t just performing at this year’s Grammys. She’s also scheduled to open the awards show.

The Recording Academy has announced that Taylor Swift will open the show with a song from her successful album 1989. Swift is also nominated for seven awards, including album of the year against Alabama Shakes, Chris Stapleton, Kendrick Lamar, and The Weeknd. Swift previously won album of the year for her 2008 release, Fearless.

According to the Christian Science Monitor, if Taylor Swift wins album of the year, then she will be the first female solo artist to have that same award twice. Many of Taylor’s critics think that the odds are in her favor this time around.

Swift’s 1989 album became the best-selling album of 2014, but came in second in 2015 behind Adele’s record-selling album 25.

Now that it’s known that the country-turned-pop singer will perform at the Grammys, some are wondering which song she’ll perform. Taylor released her video for her new single “Out of the Woods” on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. She previously released the singles “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” “Style,” “Bad Blood,” and “Wildest Dreams.”

There are some fans who hope that Taylor Swift will perform an unreleased song from the album such as “I Know Places,” “New Romantics,” or “Wonderland.” Meanwhile, other fans are hoping that Swift will give a stripped down performance of either “Out of the Woods” or “Blank Space” like she did during her Grammy Museum Exhibit.

No matter what happens, it’s already guaranteed to be a big weekend for the singer. As everyone knows by now, Valentine’s Day is this coming Sunday, and it’s also the first time that Taylor has been in a long-term relationship. Rumors are swirling that Taylor’s boyfriend DJ Calvin Harris will make sure that this Valentine’s Day is a special one for his girl.

An alleged inside source revealed to the Hollywood Life that although Tayvin don’t really have any special plans, they plan to make it up with all of the events that are taking place this weekend. It sounds a like a super low-key weekend for the pair.

“Calvin is not going to change how he feels or treats Taylor just because it’s Valentine’s Day. He feels that every day is Valentine’s day with her and he will continue to treat her like an angel. She is going to have a big weekend with the Grammy Awards so he is looking forward to party with her, have a nice dinner with her and then spend as much quality alone time with her as possible.”

The insider also revealed that the “How Deep Is Your Love” DJ has fallen hard for the singer.

“He loves her and wants to continue the path the relationship is going on because in his mind it is perfection.”

It’s any wonder if Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris will show off their romance at the 2016 Grammys like they did back at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. That was the only time that fans got to see the two interact on live television. Since then, Swift and Harris have been pretty quiet about their relationship, especially on their social media accounts.

But there’s no doubt that they will show up together at a pre-or-post-Grammy party. According to Bustle, Taylor and Calvin showed some major affection at a post-show party.
