Ryan Reynolds On Parenthood: ‘I Think The Teeth Are Fangs Actually, From What I Can Tell’

Ryan Reynolds is one sweet guy. According to Crushable, the Deadpool star recently appeared on The Graham Norton Show and talked about smuggling apple pie across the border for Blake Lively.

Apparently, he did it by singing to the border guard.

“My wife is a foodie and loves these apple pies they make in Vancouver where I grew up so we grabbed a bunch of them and we were heading back down to the States and across the border, and you are not allowed to take fruit and vegetables across. The guard knew something was going on as I’ve the worst poker face ever and he had me on a hook. He said, ‘You remember you did that movie Just Friends and at the end you sang I Swear?’ I said, ‘Yes,’ and he said, ‘Go ahead.’ He was saying dance monkey and I danced! I sang that thing in the best falsetto I had and I was on my way through the border eating pie by the next stop.”

Ryan Reynolds does love his family, so much so that People reports that he fiercely defended the name he and Lively gave his daughter during an interview with Good Morning Britain on Friday. Her name is James, after Reynolds’ late father.

“In the spectrum of weird celebrity baby names, I don’t really feel like we’re breaking new ground here. I didn’t call her Summer Squash Meadowlark. My father just passed away, but my daughter’s named after him.”

Reynolds joked about what he considered calling his daughter.

“I also thought of going with all the letters silent in her name and it’d just be pronounced [long breath out]. I’m just giving dumb celebrities ideas.”

On being a father, Ryan Reynolds said he absolutely loves it, even with his daughter teething.

“I love being a father. I think [the teeth] are fangs actually, from what I can tell. They’ll draw blood… I don’t want to be one of those celebs who talks about being a parent like they’re the only person in the world who has ever managed to conceive and bear a child. It’s the most common thing in the world but the most profound. It’s super fun. I just love it.”

Ryan Reynolds also has an opinion on Zayn Malik ditching his appearance on The Graham Norton Show. Sugarscape reports that Reynolds took to Twitter to express himself.

This complaint might have been somewhat humorous, but according to Metro, when Ryan Reynolds talked about the Chinese censors who banned Deadpool during an interview with Digital Spy, he wasn’t so nice.

“In a world divided by fear, one man must stand alone – Deadpool, rated f*** you, you’ll never see this.”

Ryan Reynolds has been a busy man lately. Aside from his new movie, Deadpool, his interviews, and his pie smuggling, Billboard reports that he appeared in a Hyundai Super Bowl commercial called Ryanville. In the teaser, two women are driving a Hyundai Elantra, and they keep seeing Ryan Reynolds as they drive. He is walking a dog, then using a jackhammer. Because the women can’t keep their eyes off Reynolds, their car’s safety features save them from having an accident.

So what does Ryan Reynolds think about playing Deadpool? In an interview with IGN, Reynolds said he is perfectly happy playing Deadpool and would be for the rest of his life.

“I never want to play another comic book character again; Deadpool, I would like to play for the rest of my life – that’d be fun.”

Ryan Reynolds did elaborate a little.

“No, I’ve done a number of them, and I think it’s time for other people to do them now. You’ve got to share the wealth on that one.”

Fans would love to see Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool again and again!
