‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Fans Will Love ‘Outsiders’ — Here’s Why

Sons of Anarchy was a much-loved show and fans were sad to see it go.

[Warning: Spoiler Alert]

As for previous cast member Maggie Siff, she found it hard to watch the whole last season. Nerd Core Movement reports that Siff, whose character Dr. Tara Knowles was killed at the end of Season 6, had a very hard time with the storylines in the final season, especially the one revolving around Jax and Gemma.

“That whole season was really hard to watch. We all knew it was never going to end well for anybody. When you’re making a show that’s loosely based on Hamlet, you know almost everyone is going to die. It was just a question of when and how. I felt very sad watching Jax and Gemma die. Watching it play out at home on a TV screen without me was surreal.”

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Walton Goggins recently had his own take on Sons of Anarchy, or at least on his character. Goggins played the role of Venus, and he said the role could not have gone wrong thanks to Kurt Sutter.

“Not the way Kurt wrote her. He and I both wanted Venus to be a very real and very respectful character. The Venus you saw was already on the page like that; it wasn’t all me. That woman, she was a flower in a desert of immorality. We thought it would be a one-time appearance, but she was such a lovely human being and the audience really responded to her that I went back to Kurt at one point and said, ‘I don’t think I’ve finished with her, mate.’ And he said, ‘Yeah, I don’t think I’ve finished with her either.’ I still miss her, man.”

There was a huge void left behind when Sons of Anarchy ended, one that has yet to be filled. But Zap2it reports that there is a new show called Outsiders that will air on WGN America that just might fill the hole left by Sons of Anarchy. Outsiders will have all sorts of gritty details in it that will be appealing to Sons of Anarchy fans. It’s about the Farrell clan, who lives illegally in the Appalachian Mountains and who the town wants to evict so they can begin mining operations.

So what makes Outsiders similar to Sons of Anarchy? Well, replace motorcycles with ATVs, but ensure the family rules are the same as any bike club and you have a recipe very similar to what Sons of Anarchy delivered. The family has rules that supersede any others, and they hand out their own justice. There are also several Outsiders characters who resemble characters on Sons of Anarchy, such as Lil’ Foster, who is much like Opie, and Big Foster, who is a lot like Clay Morrow.

As for a return of Sons of Anarchy, or rather its prequel, there are still rumors circulating about that. According to Parent Herald, one of the most the most recent of these rumors is that Brad Pitt will be playing the part of the young John Teller. One person who has heard the rumors is Charlie Hunnam, who played Jax Teller on Sons of Anarchy. Last year, he told Men’s Journal about the rumor and said it sounded exciting.

“Did you read that about Brad Pitt maybe playing my dad? Brad Pitt as John Teller. How awesome would that be?”

The only thing fans can do is wait to see if there will be a Sons of Anarchy prequel. In the meantime, it is worth checking out Outsiders.
