Larry King debuted his new Hulu talk show on Monday night and producer/comedian Seth MacFarlane was there to celebrate the talk show hosts return to the interview and commentary circuit.

Larry King Now is a more laid back version of Larry King Live which the talk show host left in December 2010 after 25 years and almost 7,000 shows.

At  78-years-old Larry King no longer performs his hosting duties late at night, instead new episodes are posted around 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. King has also dropped the phone-in part of the show and instead he embraces Twitter questions.

Larry King Now is produced by Ora TV, a new venture of Mexican telecommunications billionaire Carlos Slim Helú. Larry King is also a co-founder of Ora TV.

Hulu and Ora TV began working out plans for the new program in January. Hulu, a joint venture of News Corp., Walt Disney Co.and NBCUniversal had long wanted a talk show on its lineup and with Larry King leading the way the new show was a no-brainer. Some of Hulu’s most successful clips come from other “talk shows” including Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

Hulu has been making a big push to differentiate itself from Netflix, Amazon Prime and other competitors in the market, specifically through original programming including ”Battleground” and “Spoilers With Kevin Smith.”

Terms of the Hulu, Ora TV deal have not been revealed although the company’s did admit to a multiyear deal which includes a license fee and a split of ad revenue generated from Larry King Now.
