‘Dance Moms’ Star Maddie Ziegler’s New Ad Inspired By Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off?’ [Video]

Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler stuns in a new ad for dance apparel and accessories brand Capezio, called #DanceInYou. Clad in black and blue in a sea of ballerina dancers all wearing the same outfit, the reality star definitely stood out from the pack.

The video started with Maddie joining the barre class, following the routine, only to bust an expressive dance of her own soon after. While the other dancers looked amused by how Maddie acted at first, they slowly began to let loose and join the Dance Moms star.

This reminded us of Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” music video, only Ziegler is definitely much more graceful than the pop star.

Speaking to Huffington Post, the Dance Moms star explained that the new campaign is all about self-expression. By doing the campaign for Capezio, Maddie Ziegler hoped to inspire other dancers to be true to themselves no matter what.

“Self expression in dance has always been so important to me, so I fell in love with the concept of this film. Hopefully it will remind young dancers everywhere that expressing yourself can be empowering, contagious and fun,” Ziegler shared.

According to Capezio, the campaign aims to encourage the grace and heritage of ballet, while inspiring young dancers to find their own beat. It was also meant to be an affirmation of individual self-expression through dance and movement.

With her amazing talent, Maddie Ziegler had no problems standing out in a sea of dancers. In Dance Moms alone, she has always been picked out by Abby Lee Miller to do solo performances, which made some of the cast members, and their moms, arguably jealous.

Dancing to Sia’s video trilogy, “Chandelier,” “Elastic Heart” and “Big Girls Cry,” definitely helped increase Maddie’s popularity even more.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Dance Moms star shared that she felt very comfortable working with Sia. Ziegler added that the singer never let her feel like she’s not her equal, calling her the “most amazing and humble” person.

Maddie Ziegler may have been famous for starring in Lifetime’s Dance Moms, but the 13-year-old shared that she wanted to be more than that. After starring in the video trilogy with Sia, Maddie explained that she wanted to “move on to bigger and better things.”

In December, Us Weekly confirmed that Ziegler will no longer be returning to Dance Moms after season 6. Insiders claim that the reality star wanted to take advantage of the several opportunities presented to her, particularly a career in Hollywood.

“Acting is something she’s really excited to pursue and [Maddie] is in high demand.”

While many Dance Moms fans were devastated with the news, it also did not come as a surprise given that she has always been very vocal about pursuing modeling and acting. After her stint in Pretty Little Liars, Ziegler said that she wanted to come back right away, even if she was just an extra. She even called it the best day of her live.

As Dance Moms and Pretty Little Liars had the same air time, Maddie Ziegler allegedly told her fans to watch the latter. According to International Business Times, Maddie called PLL“a better show” than the Lifetime reality series.

Back in March, Ziegler admitted that not everything fans see on Dance Moms is real. She added that it was hard to do a reality show where there was non-stop drama and crying

In an interview with USA Today, she shared that the producers would ask them to yell and the moms would often have fake fights in front of the camera.

“The producers set it up to make us all yell at each other. You know how I said that moms do fight? The moms have a fake fight sometimes. Afterward they just start talking and laugh about it.”
