Hugh Hefner’s Son Cooper Slams Playboy, Doesn’t Agree With Getting Rid Of Nudity

Playboy recently made a huge decision to stop putting nude pictures on their magazines. Now Hugh Hefner’s son Cooper is slamming Playboy and saying that he doesn’t agree with the direction that Playboy has decided to go with the magazine. E! Online spoke to Cooper Hefner and got the details on his thoughts now and how he doesn’t think they are making the right move with the magazine. This all went down in an interview with Business Insider and slammed Playboy magazine’s CEO Scott Flanders.

Cooper Hefner revealed what is going on now and that he has actually quit doing as much with Playboy now.

“I’ve taken a massive step back with Playboy. Just due to that fact that I do not agree with the decisions and direction the company is actually going in. I was essentially asked to no longer participate in the board meetings because I didn’t agree with his vision for the company. You either sort of take a step back and say, ‘Ok, I’m going to let this happen’ or you try and do something about it.”

Back in October, Playboy shared that they would be getting rid of nudity. Hugh Hefner’s magazine still shows sexy scenes off, but they aren’t actually nude anymore. Cooper Hefner even said what is going on with Playboy is “sad.” That isn’t all that he said though. Hefner shared that he thought all the changes to the magazine taking place are “disrespectful” to his father’s legacy, with whom he credits “kick starting the sexual revolution.”

The thing is what Cooper Hefner is saying doesn’t sound like he is mad at his dad Hugh Hefner. It sounds more like he is blaming the CEO and not Hef. Maybe Hugh Hefner wasn’t the one behind this big decision to take nudity out of Playboy.

At this time, Hugh Hefner’s famous Playboy mansion is up for sale and everyone is curious if this means that Hugh Hefner isn’t doing well. Whoever buys the mansion has to allow Hefner to live there until he dies though. This has some people concerned about how Hugh Hefner doing. Since his show ended and he married Crystal Harris, Hugh Hefner hasn’t been in the spotlight very much at all.

Hop Media also shared a bit more about what Cooper Hefner had to say about what is going on. Actually, Cooper is very unhappy about a few things that have been decided about Playboy lately. Cooper Hefner himself shared the details about how things are now.

“My unwillingness to get on board with decisions like taking the company non-nude, selling the Mansion, and a laundry list of other brand initiatives, has rendered my relationship with Playboy’s current CEO non-existent.”

Cooper Hefner really wants to work with the Playboy brand and introduce the brand to his generation. Cooper is sharing that they just aren’t seeing eye to eye right now. Right now Cooper Hefner is stepping back. It is unknown how his dad Hugh Hefner feels about this decision. Cooper Hefner even shared that when the current management is gone, he would be happy to step back in again. Once something happens to Hugh Hefner, it is going to be interesting to see how it all ends up going.

What do you think about Playboy‘s decision to get rid of nudity in the magazine? Do you think that Cooper Hefner is doing the right thing by stepping back? Sounds off in the comments below on your thoughts.
